Fake news. I just watched a video of Chinese party goers dressed up for Halloween in Guangzhou. There’re like thousands of people celebrating on streets and pubs.

Even South Korea and Japan have "cracked down" on the event this year, with some restaurants and venues banning anyone who dressed up. Not sure if this may prevent the stampede incidents as in past years. They need better events management.

Just curious, why western media expect Chinese to celebrate Halloween in a big way? Should Americans celebrate Qingming in NY city?

Here's what China's 🇨🇳 leadership fears the most:
    - the truth,

I really hate this event so I made a complaint to the police and they told me they actually already received numerous complaints like mine. My reasons are simple: wearing weird scary costumes wondering on the roads scare people like me also a lot of others especially small kids and old people. Blocking the traffic by gathering crowds after crowds blocking the streets roads are not acceptable at all, plus attracting lots more people stop to take pictures. Don't forget the stampede accident in Shanghai and Seoul due to overcrowded which killed more than 100 people. The noise they make when celebrating Halloween is unbearable. The last point is I don't think it's fair to Christians promote their religious beliefs and habits to the public meanwhile other religions aren't, if one could do then all could do similar but I think it's a bad idea to promote one religion stuff and we are not a religious country, shouldn't let religion dominate our society instead we should promote science technology education culture instead of any religious stuff. I understand Western media are trying so hard to indicate something politics or twisted the narratives, but New Year (solar calendar) which is highly celebrate by all of the population in China, according to Western media narrative, this is also Western thing especially considering we have our own lunar calendar new year, we should ban Western new year according to Western media narrative logic, but we didn't. It's nothing about ban Western thing or not.
