    The most significant difference to most other military rercuitment videos is the fact that the video actually shows one of the "good guys" get hit, and what they do about it. Most recruitment videos are showing only the cool things, and they disregard the fact that someone may get hurt.

    It is a demonstration video. Showing how various units would be used in reaction to a hypothetical threat scenarios. Mostly to educate and inform finns on how their tax euros and military service is being used for. Maybe a bit for recruitment purposes.

      The bit in the end is for conscripts to apply too specialize as mps, not for future employment.

      I think one reason for these videos is to remind our neighbor that Finland is prepared for everything

    The "Military Police in Action" video brings back good memories, for I had served in the MP Company in the Guards Jaeger Regiment during my conscription. The staff members in the film - ie the officers - are genuine military officers, persons who became very familiar figures to me during my service. From what I recall, the video was filmed during January of 2010, whereas I had served two years in prior. The scenario depicted was quite similar to the ones we had been trained to respond - and the exercises were realistic!
    The Lieutenant "Sierra One" was one of our commanding officers in the company: an outstanding and encouraging leader, nothing negative to be said about him.
    I am certainly glad that British people have become interested of these videos 😀

    Finland doesn't really need these videos for any recruitment reasons, because if you are a young man you are going into the military anyways. Or serving in civil services, or if you deny service at all, you will serve a prison sentence. But you will serve something, one way or another. And I like how the FInnish Defence Forces make these videos. They always show own casualties to remind you, that it is serious shit.

      Well this and similar videos is for the ones that had there basic training liked it and figured what's next in my military career what goals are there to reach.

      I think the idea of these videos is to create at least some hype for going to intti. Its better to have recruits that beforehand have some idea or goal what they wanna do in the army or if they wanna join navy/air force. Its way better than just throw them to intti randomly. So i think its a good idea to make recruitement videos for mandatory recruits

      @imonoke7903i agree. much better if you know before which branch would you like the most so you are more motivated.
      it was bit different in 90s
      tho i knew i'd go to electronic warfare, one friend got accepted to combat diving. one got to combat medic and continued career in the military and is now trauma surgeon in civilian life also

    In a reservist MP. Ive had about 3-4 refresher training so far where we get called in for a week to upkeep our skills and update on new thing. Normally at the end of the week we get to do a massive balls to the walls full on big scenario related to our job and also combine with other units to rehearse a realistic scenario completely. That would be similiar to what this video shows.

  • @Mayhem-pv9cc
    @Mayhem-pv9cc 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    They do not get just anyone into MP. It's really tough to get into the program. Just like not everyone is accepted into the military, even if it's mandatory. There is physical and mental screening, more so the tougher the field of expertise is.

      More of the result of a personal disobedience concerning a requirement. Like deciding not paying taxes. And nowadays (iirk) one seldom goes to jail anymore. But it'll be a mark on your personal record nevertheless.

    We are the front line. Our fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters give their lives defending their own country. We are not volunteers, but forced to defend ourselves. Heroes only exist in stories, we do not have the freedom to choose. We live in a growing climate of uncertainty and fear. We will fight for our own country if we have to. You can live happily and safely wherever you are, good luck.

    In order to someone can become a professional soldier in Finnish armed forces they have to complete their military service as an officer. That means that they'll have 347 days to think about their career choice if they will be up for it. ;)
    Also, to become a police officer in Finland, a completed military service (officer training is a plus) is required for men. Not sure if it's obligatory for women because the military service is voluntary for women.

    • @Elsuri313
      @Elsuri313 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Both of your points are false.
      1. You do not have to be an officer to be a professional soldier. You can work as a peacekeeper with any completed army rank so 347 is not needed.
      2. Completed military service is not required for applying to police academy, neither does it give you any extra points.

    Explosives in general are not really complicated to disarm. If you are able to identify what you are dealing with you can remove igniter rather easily. Movies over complicate them usually.

    Finnish army trains often in those metro tunnels.
    And as a reply to one other comment. You don't have to be an officer trained for a military carriere as a soldier. NCO training is enough. We also have a lot of jobs as a civilian. I for example am a civilian, and i'm a gunsmith.

    Every military has a military police, because there has to be somebody ready to deal with the guys with guns getting stupid ideas. They don't have to deal with that very often so they also get to handle base security, sometimes do CQC stuff, play police and whatever. The other service branches focus on their own stuff.
    Edit: Serving as an MP may also count as credits in security training or police school.
    Edit 2: That unit is specifically focused on urban combat. They are in Helsinki and I think they also post guards outside the presidential palace (the same way you guys have those beefeaters standing around the palace).

    Finland is definitely on the Frontline but it would seem will be fighting the Americans as well as the Russians. Americans threatening Greenland/Denmark with military invasion and economic sanctions.
    The UK lead Joint Expeditionary force/JEF consists of UK, the Nordic countries(Greenland included) and the Baltic countries, and is around 10 000 strong rapid deployment force.

And it's been 80 years since then. It's probably enough that our Homeland Security forces once captured a United Kingdom ship when you tried to invade here... ;) Stay away!
