I was waiting for someone to mention Upside Down, I recently read it and it was so wholesome and lovely and really great at explaining the wide variety of ace identities/feelings.
A few other recs (because I can't not recommend people books):
    - Rick by Alex Gino (MG contemporary, young boy discovering he might be aro/ace)
    - Heartsong by TJ Klune (Adult Paranormal, 3rd in the series but this one follows the relationship of the main ace character who is usually a main/side character in the other books. The series also has a side aro character)
    - Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray (YA Paranormal, 2nd in series where lesbian ace character is introduced and focuses on her but her asexuality isn't fully discussed until later books where she is more of a side character)
    - All Systems Red by Martha Wells (Adult Sci-Fi, no one mentions this as an ace book but the main character says he doesn't understand why humans want to have sex all the time and thinks he'd feel that way even if he was human, to me that reads as asexual)
    - The Lightning-Struck Heart by TJ Klune (Adult Fantasy, a main side character is ace and it's explicitly mentioned on page)

One of my favourite characters of all time, Seong-Jae Yoon from the Criminal Intentions by Cole McCade series is ace/greysexual!
I would also recommend E(lizabeth) Wambheim, she is a nonbinary asexual author and all her stories have ace rep. I like her newest one, Of the Wild, the most; it's abut a magical forest and has found family vibes.
Love Limits is an Adult BDSM romance that is very diverse, the protagonist is a Deaf Chinese-American panromantic asexual man.
Lastly, there is a free webcomic called Rock and Riot that is a fun romp about gangs and features an all queer cast and multiple ace characters.

Seong-Jae is ace/greysexual!? I just read the first book a few months ago and had so much fun with it, but this is def pushing the rest of the series closer to the top of my tbr list XD

Tarnished Are The Stars - Rosiee Thor has an aroace POV character, and a sapphic romance. Once & Future and Sword in the Stars by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy has an ace side character as well as non-binary rep, lesbians, a gay wizard, and so much more.

    • @KathyTrithardt

I love the _Once & Future_ duology! I still need to get to _Tarnished Are The Stars_ though.

    - Asexual Fairy Tales by Elisabeth Hopkinson. It is exactly what is says on the tin.
    - I also really enjoyed the Margin Street Zeroes series by Robin Banks. It's about three really queer university students who end up in a found family thing with a fourth character, who is a god. It is fantastic realism, there are gods causing problems and stuff, but it is about as important as the mental health and finance problems. The ace storyline only starts in the third book, but the entire story is so wonderfully queer, especially where gender identities are concerned. I feel like it really improved my life having read it.
    - Then there is Jo Walton's Tir Tanagiri series. I only read the first book, The King's Peace, but it went REALLY HARD. It is an AU version of the King Arthur mythos, and the protagonist is one of his generals, an ace lady knight. It feels a lot like reading a historic chronicle about the uniting of the kingdoms, which can be a bit... dry, at times, but at the same time, there are knights and Sulien is an amazing female character. CW for rape at the beginning though.
    - Investigation in Nottingham by Astrid R. Brandon is... Well. It is one of those books that has a good story, but the writing leaves to be desired. I think it's main worth is as escapist self-insert fantasy, which for me worked really well and I do love the characters. The main reason for this is that it speaks to me about a certain autistic teen having imaginary friends and an imaginary world experience that was definitely my childhood/teen years, and that I haven't seen represented anywhere else yet. I have pledged life-long loyalty to that book and this list would feel incomplete without it.

The Not Even Bones series (Market of Monsters) is probably my favorite English series ever, and the main couple is the first canon aroace qpr I encountered in a book! To be fair, this is a revelation they have together later on so it doesn't seem like it at the start, but it is and it made my day. Or my year. Dare I say, my decade? XD

All of these are such good recs! I'm a little surprised not to see an Alice Oseman book here. She's the first author I think of when I think of ace books. I thought I felt seen when I read Let's Talk About Love but Loveless blew that feeling out of the water for me.
