Makes me miss my dad so much. 💕 One of my earliest memories of my dad was when I was about four years old and would 'help' him work on our old historic house. He'd tie a nail apron on me and I'd hand him one nail at a time. I'm sure I was slow as molasses and he could've done it so much faster on his own, but he was so patient and more than half a century later I still remember that little snippet of my dad.

So wonderful! Your hard work is paying off with a beautiful home. Ah yes, I remember sanding my circa 1958 red oak floors one December back in 2000. Everything was gumming up and I couldn’t make any progress so I broke down and used a chemical stripper first. Then, I sanded with coarse grit, then vacuumed and mopped, sanded with medium grit, then vacuumed and mopped. By the time I got to the fine grit and vacuuming and mopping the floors were incredible. The polyurethane went on like a dream and it was the best thing I ever did!

I’d be so tempted to whitewash the floors so some of the antique wood is peeking through but they are going to be beautiful. You two are so hardworking! that's just here in Australia. Roofs can vary depending on climate, culture, and country, and there are many differences between roofs built here and American roofs. ... Australia on the other hand has more tropical and subtropical regions, which requires more heat resistant roofing designs.

Jobs well done. If I had to be on the roof in the heat, I would be whining and throwing myself. I sanded my living room and diningroom floor with a belt sander, hurt my shoulder and was sore for days. I lost control of it a couple of times and it went flying across the room. Jamie you looked like you were in control and made it look easy. Good job. It is definitely a work out. Lol

You need to use a leaf blower after sanding . Just open the front door and blower it out. My parents used to own collage rentals and I found that fast then sweeping.

Zeb make sure you change your air conditioning filter after all that sanding. Jami you are so strong. It's really hard to run a sander like that.

That floor sander is super loud. If you don’t wear ear protection you won’t hear well for a week. ❤️
There is a matched Duration starter strip available. one continuous roll, saves time and money!

We’re going to make the flooring out of plywood and hopefully get a little age out of it to match the old part of the house.
