Where is the East Indian in the soca music? Explain it

The rhythm is much more african than east indian. However, when the indians moved to Trinidad and Tobago, their music was incorporated into soca over time.

@@rainzwastakenn not true Indian music stayed Indian music and African Trinidad music stayed AfricanTrinidad music and no matter who played the music it’s culture never changed even if they made up music singing in a different language, if Indians players played soca music it doesn’t change to Indian music , and I like Indian music even if I don’t understand the language, when people just make stuff up as time passes they give people the right to change things and call it their own and not give credit to the original culture.

@@OscarRaphael-i4eInfluences large or small will happen regardless. Two groups of people living together on two tiny islands will mix cultures like it or not. Roti is eaten by Afro-Trinidadians even though it was introduced by Indians. There is evidence of Indian influence in the types of harmonies in soca and the melodies specifically rather than the rhythm

@@TrixterWolfie food is not the same as music people will have to show where the Indian influence is in soca what part of the beat is Indian did created the the flavor did they create the beat did they create the melody is it the rhythm? India Indians has similar type rhythm and they do not claim it to be African influences.
