Take those predictions as a net win, a few good calls in there. I agree with you that Hough should have been in the 22 under 22. Always great content mate. Especially in a down period for the club, having a space like this that is generally removed from the strong emotional reactions from most fans is nice. You're definitely a realist and I respect that
Upon reflection if we snag two more wins, which was highly probable, as well as a 15 point loss to the premiers the team has more than a handful of super promising green shoots. Hough, being a stand out, Ginbey, Dewar who I believe will be a better goal kicker and play maker than Ryan, Jack Williams who's a under rated gun, Maric will continue to get better and should never have been dropped, Hutchinson who try's just as hard as the next nominee Waterman, and of course Harley Reid. Honourable mentions to the injured Hewitt who I guaruntee would have been in that list. We really need Bailey Williams to stand up for us and plug that massive hole We have a solid side building, the missing ingredient is the work rate and winning culture
Harley Reid did miss two games from suspension, so had he played those two and played alright, he might have snuck into 5th place for Best and Fairest, so not a bad call at all.
I saw a lot of posts saying we could play finals after the Melbourne win. I predicted the Eagles 14th with 7-8 wins, but 6th to 14th couldn't make up their minds are we crap or contenders? Melbourne in 14th with 11 wins (quite remarkable)
Hough not making the 22 under 22 is a disgrace. The kid is already playing like a 100+ gamer. He reminds me of Blake Hardwick for Hawthorn. He does his job every week on a variety of small to medium sized players and rarely lowers his colours to any of them. He is composed with the ball even when under pressure. So I would give prediction 1 a tick even if the AFL didn't agree.
Imo he looks like he lacks intention and guts because he is playing a position he doesn't want to. Which you can't hold against him, so what do we do from there
I think Baily Willams is suited now for giving relief to the key talls all over the ground. So McGovern, Allen etc take a spell on the bench and he keeps the opponent occupied nothing fancy. Until he matures more a footballer and it could do him some good for leadership group roles.
I reckon that's not a bad call! Physicality would be the question mark but I could see him being a great spoiler. Worth a crack somewhere down the line
We played the top 8 teams the least out of any bottom 3 team. We didn’t over perform, and to close we had the worst top 8 record in the comp. We were terrible and deserved to finish on the bottom.
What if west coast get it wrong? If all these players are flight risks and they split the top pick again, overlook the next Patrick Cripps or Chad Warner or even Andrew Swallow and they basically pick a player worth in the 50’s? You’ve basically gone from pick 2 to 50?
Pick 50? I think I get your point though. There will be a degree of risk either way. On the plus side though, Cripps and Warner went at 13 and 39 respectively (can't remember on Swallow). Hopefully we land a gun WA prospect late in the draft!
The WAFL Eagles is not a great competition to develop our players. I think the club has to look at joining the VFL. The concessions to get players to have a competitive team is ridiculous. For a Club down the bottom how does this help us.
We suck in the wafl let alone joining the VFL 🤦 we should never have made a stand alone club, it was a failure for the wafl and westcoast, the royals ain’t taking them back now
@@lukem6929You missed the point, the reason we’re so poor is because of the restrictions put on us by the wafl, by joining the VFL we lose them and can actually start building a proper reserves team that young players can actually develope in
@@lije3931you have a good point, and would be a better way for the players to develop. I think the challenges of travelling when half the team are not professionals and the cost of travel seem prohibitive because the revenue from vfl/wafl probably isn’t enough.

Yes!

Agree mate! I think our youth is better than people think...this is always the case with rebuilding sides I guess.

Both teams ended up all over the place this year! Hopefully more wins like the Dees win in 2025.

Love this from you! Well said mate couldn't agree more!
Anyone else think Bailey Williams would be a better key back than a ruck?

We should just align with another wafl club so our players have good support and can go down to reserves if needed.
@@Bally0207we would but the wafl clubs aren't up for it so its not an option
