Nice to see it in operation as I’m working on the assembly of one of these systems in a large food warehouse.

Just goes to show that humans will always be useful even with technology advancing. Even the managers can do it! Wonderful! Not a usual thing to see

This site is super cleaner than our woolworths site. Hope the new warehouse solves the problem.

Lol the Woolworths minchinbury is terrible complete jungle. Rats in the pickto belt places, sexual harassment, drug use is rife.

How this DEMATIC's Goods to Person solution integrated with traditional WMS system such as JDA or SAP?And how the whole process works? means, if the WMS waves all the picking then how DEMATIC knows that info and how after picking the WMS's stock will be updated so that next waving will not consider the stock which are already picked? is it always EDI synced?

Could the lady pickers scarf get caught in the GTP conveyor?

Hi Patrick. Please be advised that this video was filmed only for marketing purposes during the commissioning period; however it occurred prior to Big W's official go-live and the implementation of formal operational safety procedures. Dematic RapidPICK stations as shown in the video do have sensors detecting obstructions in the vicinity of the tote movements, which immediately paralyses the machinery once a foreign object is detected. Nevertheless, in a real operational scenario Dematic strongly advises the operator to follow the manufacturer’s manual provided with the equipment, where the operators must not wear loose fitting clothing such as scarves, ties, necklace etc.

does this system use RFID to go collect the products or does it know where the products are?

Steve Ngabo Gikwiye Hi Steve. It's not RFID in this application - all totes are barcoded. Totes are stored in the Dematic MultiShuttle buffer and the Location Control System knows position of each tote.
