- The next stop on our US Road trip is a visit to Richmond, Virginia
Richmond, Virginia is the state’s capital and the fourth-largest city in Virginia.
With a history stretching back to the 1730s and a vibrantly diverse population, this city has plenty to offer to residents and visitors alike.
The city lies near the James River
Thanks for watching, and we hope you enjoy this series as much as we enjoyed filming it

So next up on our road trip is Richmond, Virginia.
Had a great day here, some unexpected bears made the drive worth it for Kev 😂
And a Chick Fil A to finish the day is always a good way to finish
Williamsburg is absolutely full of history, 1 hr East of Richmond!
Downtown was a very beautiful old hotel called the Jefferson that would be worth the drop
I remember when Queen Elizabeth visited. That’s the hotel she stayed in. In the early 1900’s they had an alligator in the lobby as a mascot.
You took quite the detour to Staunton. Didn’t stop in Charlottesville? Lots of lovely wineries in the region too
Thats cool yall came to the city. Also if you go 1 hour east of Richmond, you have the port of Norfork. You can take a cruise.
You guys are hilarious. Our favourite TH-camrs. Can’t wait for the next one
Thanks so much 😁
Hi again guys. Cool to follow your progress. You've passed a couple of miles past me on the interstate, up in Fredericksburg.
Richmond is not a bad little city, but I prefer the nature (Shenandoah) and the coastal area and history around Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.
Safe onward travels as you head south!
Thanks for watching Mark, and the day before this video we actually drove all the way through the Shenandoah National Park. It was incredible and so beautiful. It was one of the days off from us filming anything so it was nice to properly see everything and take it all in 😁
Hi Stacey and Kev. Love VA. The weather looked perfect. Yay on the mug!! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures! ♥️♥️
Thanks MaryAnn
We enjoyed seeing all the critters and the lovely old mansion, Kev and Stacey. Shame you couldn't tour inside. BTW-those spooks in your haunted hotel? Most likely spooks from the CIA. More of them in the Virginia countryside than critters! 🤣🤣We enjoyed the tour of Richmond. It looks like a lovely city. Thanks so much for bringing us along and congratulations on your new mug. Love Chick-fil-A!
Hahaha 🤣 we did enjoy Chick Fil A 😋 😁
What a lovely place
As a lifelong Richmonder, you guys getting flummoxed by the spareness of the Canal Walk tickled me. There is very little to do there (especially in the winter), and is kind of a local joke. Sorry Google led you astray, but thanks for visiting!
Thanks for watching
Tip for Starbucks mugs. Try Target stores. They have Starbucks inside and I got mine there. My goal is a bit similarly to yours. I want to visit all the US state capitol buildings. (Capitol is the building. Capital is the city) they are so interesting with lots of history and architecture. You’re smart to go down the east coast and knock off a lot of states at once.
Love that y'all were in my back yard. And to let you know, the "u" in Staunton is silent. You were pronouncing it like the locals on the first try. Y'all are great!
Thanks so much
You made it to my hometown omg, no one has ever cared about us until like 8 years ago
It looks beautiful.
It was lovely Liz 😍
Fab video as always, that hotel was gorgeous and I must admit, I wouldn’t be kayaking down the James river either…. Crazy fast
Thanks Joanne
Mm chicken fil a looks good. I'm looking forward to the next vlog x x
Really enjoying all your Vlogs. I started with your Princess series because we are going on Princess for the first time next year. But now i'm doing your US road trip and was happy to see your reference to the San Antonio Riverwalk in this Richmond Vlog. We live in San Antonio so great to know that you visited before. Do you have a SanAntonio Vlog or was that before you started your channel. Keep up the good work on the Vlogs and Happy Traveling and Cruising!
Thanks so much we appreciate it 😊
Loving these vlogs guys 🥰 we definitely want to do what your doing all 50 states we’ve got a lot to do though only done 11😳
Thanks so much and 11 is great 😁
Hope you will be seeing Mt vernon!
Hello from Richmond VA🎉
Hi 👋
Loved chick fil a til I tried popeyes great to have yous back in the USA
Haha yes that's true. We had Popeyes twice on this trip and we really liked it 👌
Thanks guys, your always good fun 😁.
Any chance you could share a picture of all your Starbucks mugs 😮.
Take care guys 😊
Haha we can eventually 😁
Enjoyed this adventure guys. We haven't been to USA for 7 years and heard prices have risen loads. What are your experiences of prices over there?
Hi, it has gone up, some things more than others. Just the same as anywhere though really. It's still better value than in the UK for dining, especially for the portion sizes lol. And gas is still a lot cheaper than what we pay in the UK 😁
Richmond is a wealth of Civil War history. It was the Capitol of the Confederacy. The cemetery has a former President buried there…
Well it used to. The woke leadership has gotten rid of much of it.
Never had a chick fil a, but heard nothing but good things, shame about the peanuts 🥜
STACEY is correctly pronouncing legislative. I’m sure if Americans or Canadians were to visit the UK we would incorrectly pronounce so many names in the United Kingdom. I think a lot of people get hung up on Worcestershire sauce. I’ve called it Worcester sauce, like the town in Massachusetts, but I’m sure I’m pronouncing that incorrectly too.
Yes, that's very true 👍
Ashame they took all the monuments down on Monument Avenue, it used to be to be such a beautiful city.
The canal walk is boring lol no one goes there
I like the bridge you can walk across under the bridge you drive over
It is pronounced "Stanton".
