Joe and I were buddies for decades. He was there in so many y life events. I saw him many times. I sent him my one and only fan letter. He sent me back a great black and white photo inscribed "Stephen-Cheers-Joe". It is my prized possession. For whatever reason this is my favorite Joe song. Saw him perform it a cappella to close out a performance in Upper Darby PA and he blew the doors off. God bless you Joe...
I loved Joe. This was his best song...for the words, for the rendition. He sang it a capella in Upper Darby PA one night and left us breathless..god bless Joe..hope to see you one if these days
Saw him at the Tower on 69th Street in 75 or 76 I think. Joe was in rough shape in those days. Pretty stoned or drunk Still, he never missed a beat and it was great show.

Simply wonderful. A beautiful songwriter and a magical vocalist.
Beautiful? No. BUT memorable, nonetheless.
Beautiful!
Joe was not a performer- he was the embodiment of Shelly’s “”Ode to intellectual beauty” Ty Jimmy and Joe. Words of praise would fall sadly short
Such a great interpreter. I believe it came from having a great and pure heart. Have you ever seen that great photo of him with mother?
Joe's final recorded performance.
Wow. So beautiful. God bless Joe, and Jimmy for doing this with him.
