Why does Parliament even have bars? It's a workplace and no other workplace allows their employees to drink whilst on the clock. There needs to be a new law saying MPs only get perks if the rest of the country get them too.
I reply to so many comments like this because it seems like people outside of professions in London (which goes for me too) don't understand how common bars in and around workplaces are in the private sector, particularly in older buildings where this was even more normal a couple hundred years ago. The only reason anyone cares in this case is because it's taxpayer money and people seem to think that MPs should do lots of work for absolutely no pay and no perks which is frankly ridiculous.

I think we all have a low opinion of politicians today. I actually despair at the calibre of the people who have the audacity to think they can govern us. I'm going into my 7th decade and it's the worst I've experienced. Letting labour into the government was totally inept Labour will turn the UK into Venezuela. I put most of the blame at the feet of the Tories and was a lifetime Tory voter. I will never vote for them again
