- SBB RABe 501 Giruno trains are passing the train station of Erstfeld in Switzerland. These trains are driving normally through the Gotthard Base Tunnel. On 10.08.2023 a cargo train derailed in the Base tunnel and caused serious damage to the tunnel. Due to the blocked tunnel, lot's of trains where cancelled and lots of trains where diverted via the beautiful old Gotthard route and the Gotthard tunnel. In this video a compilation of the Giruno trains passing on 14.08.2023 in the morning.
This high speed train from the Swiss Federal Railways SBB-CFF-FFS has a maximum speed of 160 mph (250 km/h), is build by Stadler Rail Switzerland and is named there Stadler EC 250. The term "Smile" is a short name for "Speedy, Multi-system, Innovative, Lightweight Express train. It has 11 car units, a length of 660ft and can accommodate up to 400 passengers. According to the builder, Stadler Rail, this train is to be the world's first single-decker low-floor high-speed train.

Die SBB RABe 501 Giruno-Züge passieren den Bahnhof von Erstfeld in der Schweiz. Diese Züge fahren normal durch den Gotthard-Basistunnel. Am 10.08.2023 entgleiste ein Güterzug im Basistunnel und verursachte schwere Schäden im Tunnel. Aufgrund des blockierten Tunnels fielen viele Züge aus und viele Züge wurden über die schöne alte Gotthardstrecke und den Gotthardtunnel umgeleitet. In diesem Video sehen Sie eine Zusammenstellung der Giruno-Züge, die am 14.08.2023 morgens vorbeifahren.
Dieser Hochgeschwindigkeitszug der Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen SBB-CFF-FFS hat eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 160 mph (250 km/h), wird von Stadler Rail Schweiz gebaut und heißt dort Stadler EC 250. Der Begriff "Smile" ist eine Kurzbezeichnung für "Schneller, mehrsystemiger, innovativer, leichter Schnellzug". Er hat 11 Wageneinheiten, eine Länge von 660 Fuß und bietet Platz für bis zu 400 Fahrgäste. Nach Angaben des Erbauers, Stadler Rail, soll dieser Zug der weltweit erste einstöckige Niederflur-Hochgeschwindigkeitszug sein.

I treni SBB RABe 501 Giruno passano davanti alla stazione di Erstfeld, in Svizzera. Questi treni viaggiano normalmente nella galleria di base del Gottardo. Il 10.08.2023 un treno merci è deragliato nella galleria di base e ha causato gravi danni al tunnel. A causa del tunnel bloccato, molti treni sono stati cancellati e molti treni sono stati deviati attraverso la bellissima vecchia strada del Gottardo e il tunnel del Gottardo. SBB RABe 501 Giruno treinen passeren het treinstation van Erstfeld in Zwitserland. Deze treinen rijden normaal door de Gotthard Basistunnel. Op 10.08.2023 ontspoorde een goederentrein in de basistunnel en veroorzaakte ernstige schade aan de tunnel. Door de geblokkeerde tunnel werden veel treinen geannuleerd en veel treinen omgeleid via de prachtige oude Gotthardroute en de Gotthardtunnel. Deze hogesnelheidstrein van de Zwitserse Federale Spoorwegen SBB-CFF-FFS heeft een maximumsnelheid van 250 km/u, is gebouwd door Stadler Rail Zwitserland en heeft de naam Stadler EC 250 gekregen. The short train in the east side siding with the diesel locomotive is parked where the fire and tunnel rescue train use to park. I can see this train can rescue but it has no fire facilities. Hope it has a coupling for the Giruno as well as all the other traffic locos?
When I arrived early in the morning the Xtmas "Uri" just left the train station of Erstfeld in direction Göschenen / Gotthard. Was a bit too late too capture this one on video. As far as I can see it, this Am 843 loco doesn't have a suitable coupling for the Giruno. For sure they will have closeby a locomotive with a matching coupling in case of trouble with a SBB RABe 501 Giruno unit.
@@TrainJJ The rescue unit must have coupling adapter units for all rolling stock used on Swiss tracks including brake, pipes, power cables and any electronic signal cables. There would be no time to go find the 'bits' to rescue any train. The bits would also need to be of a weight for a man to handle on site. I think the last of the old type rescue train had a Bm 4/4 with pipework mods for water cannons.
