    I would really love to see an update on this unit as it has been 3 months now. Any issues? Pro's and Con's.

    This looks like it could be the best tester on the market if it’s accurate and reliable. Would love to see more videos on this!

    Honestly I've spent about 4-500 on all my manual test kits from Hanna and a variety of companies. I also go to different lfs's to get confirmation here and there. For me even on a small tank if I was starting from scratch and knew this is acurate I would get it in a heartbeat. As easy as Hanna checkers are I'd rather not.

    Thanks for the vid. When you were scrolling through the setup pages, I didn't see any listing for Salifert tests. Does that indicate that they aren't supported?

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Salifert Alkalinity, is supported. I already have 2 alk testers so 3 alk tests seemed overkill (not that it isnt already haha)

    Do you have a preference on test kits to use for various parameters? Would you say this is louder/quieter than the Neptune Trident?

  • @ArrickthaRed

  • @casualreefkeeping
    @casualreefkeeping ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The 3d printer noises! Just like the trident. Companies really need to start just using the more expensive stepper drivers to make them quieter. Or offer the option. My biggest pet peeve with the trident as well.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  ปีที่แล้ว

      On a random note I got A "silent" board for my newer ender printer.. dang is i quiet! the fans are louder than the steppers!

    • @casualreefkeeping
      @casualreefkeeping ปีที่แล้ว

      @ReefDudes those are the best. I've been using btt on all of mine, the new version added pwm to the hot end fan as well so when it's not printing all fans stop.

    Linear actuator died on my MT last week after ~6 months of use. Considering a switch to this guy. Still waiting on the replacement and not sure if I want to keep it. Was the initial connection to wifi and calibration as clunky as MT? The FT app is just not very refined for as expensive as the product line is, in my opinion. But considering both machines are basically doing the tests the same exact way, I'm not sure it's worth the switch since I've already become familiar with the MT

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a fairly smooth process and mainly already factory calibrated. If you already have the MT, i would just replace the actuator.. much cheaper than a whole new tester.

  • @FragSpawnLLC
    @FragSpawnLLC ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dev, I had the original reefbot and had so many problems, I told myself I'd never buy a product from this company ever again, I spent so much money and time trouble shooting the original. Customer service is on the other side of the world from USA, so was always a challenge. You have me intrigued, but yikes, that first one was a challenge.
    Just Waiting for an auto tester to add to my Trident to test only NO3 and PO4. Any suggestions ?

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  ปีที่แล้ว

      ReefBot and MasterTronic are you options. So far it looks like they fixed most of the little things that I eventually had issues with on the original reefbot (ex that actuator!). so fingers crossed for the new one! I cant predict the future but so far so good! will keep you guys updated on it over time.

    How much test liquids is cunsumed in it compared to manual method?

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not 100% and it will change depending on your parameter and how many drops it takes. Ex high alk will take more drops then low alk .. Im prettty sure its similarity to manual testing but not 100%

    • @ReversedCircle
      @ReversedCircle 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ReefDudes Ok, reagent consumption volume depends on the result, but only in titration tests. Other reagents can are dosed in defined volumes (like defined nb of drops in manual testing method). My question was more about these basic (not titration based) tests. If I buy a 100 reaction NO3 test package and use it with Reefbot, for how many measurements it can be used?

  • @StNovaSt
    @StNovaSt ปีที่แล้ว

    @ReefDudes At this time we shouldn’t just be aiming for more of the same. Companies need to find a way to make, at least Alk monitoring, more affordable. Most of us don’t mind testing anything else by hand. Why we need an Alk monitor is just for the trends. Make that affordable and the Reefing community will thank you.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is plenty of alk testers out now (Trident, alkatronic, kh guardian, kh keeper, kh director, ect) Only a few companies makes machines to test the rest. ReefKinnetics and Focustronic are the only ones im aware of. i have seen a few others in "beta" for ages. but those are the only ones i have seen fully released.

    • @StNovaSt
      @StNovaSt ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReefDudes Most aren’t standalone though. My ideal thing would be what @seneye has been working in for aaaaages, that would be budget, small and just focuses on Alkalinity.

    • @MrBreadman03
      @MrBreadman03 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shirtdirt1874 I've talked with a few companies at conventions over the years and they stated that a 4 foot or smaller tank makes up the vast majority of the market. I'd probably add in a smattering of 4' 120's as they're a pretty affordable "big" tank.

    The quality of the hardware is so very, very low with the whole unit being way to large, and the 3d printed parts just proves this is a toy, not a tool......
