That is great to hear that your math phobia is on it was out. I have thought for many years that the reason that students don't learn math based subjects like statistics and economics is that it is taught poorly. So I always like to hear when my videos are helping those that have math phobias.
Thank you, thank you dear sir. Being a 2nd-year psychology major, I really did not come into this major prepared to do any complicated math...as I found statistics to be. You have enlightened me multiple times in this concise, brilliantly illustrated video. I daresay I owe my entire statistics course to you! Thank you, and God bless you!
Thank you. The animations take a long time to create, so I appreciate the feedback. Make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook (see link in video description). This will help others find the educational videos.
How awesome you are Sir! Great explanation! step by step with a very clear voice and strategies of teaching that makes much easier to understand. Much appreciation!
thank u very much sir. I'm suffering from eczema and stress from math triggers it especially when i do math projects like these. This helped me a lot. More power to you and your channel. Rest more study less!
Yes, I have learned over the years that not everyone likes statistics as much as I do and many students just hate the subject. Make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook (see link in video description). This will help others find the educational videos.
Thank You very much for such a wonderful compliment. Make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook (see link in video description). This will help others find the educational videos.
I love you :D I tried to understand this stuff with my lectures but the slides and explanations just didn't make any sense to me. This totally does!! :)
Best concised visual presentation out there. The future of teaching / learning is online and this is a great example of how it's done. Enjoyable clear voice and did I sense a touch of humor? :) Question : Which presentation software was used? Many thanks!
Muuip Thanks for your kind words they are much appreciate. I use a variety of different software products including flash, illustrator, Final Cut Studio and a few others. Unfortunately there is not one software product I use. It takes me about 8 hours per minute of video, so I hope the videos will have a long shelf life.
8 hours for every minute. Respect! I definitely see it in the quality of the results and I know it will have a tremendous impact for many years to come. Again, this is the future of teaching right here. Just a thought, everyone can update pages on Wikipedia, why not add a link to your tutorial on the t - test Wikipedia page. If Wikipedia doesn't implement this possibility yet, we should definitely suggest it.
You are welcome. I have an entire play list on t tests including how to the same in excel. I added a link to the playlist in the video description of this video.
You are very welcome and I appreciate the positive feedback. Make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook (see link in video description). This will help others find the educational videos.
Good question. I prefer two tail test because if you reject the null hypothesis on a two tail test you will reject it on the one tail test too. The burden of proof is higher for a two tail test. In the end, you will have a higher level of confidence rejecting a two tail test. Make sense?
Yes I do have a video on that topic. I added a link to it in the description of this video. I just added a link to that video (you can see the link in this videos description).
THank you so much for all those great videos. But I am a bit confused now, what is the difference between two tail and one tail ? is there any videos to explain that?
Many thanks! Good luck in your classes too. If you have not done so make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook (see link in video description). It will help me get the word out and you can help ease the statistics pain of others.
Great to hear! Good luck in your studies too. Make sure you like MyBookSucks on FaceBook(see link in video description). This will help others find the educational videos.
Love the video, but have a question. Take a look at the video starting at time mark, 8:22. You input values for confidence. Are these set numbers in the back of the book you mentioned or are they calculated based on the data you are studying? I am learning how to do T-Tests by making my own Filemaker Pro program. This is the best way to learn.
I was doing realllllly well understanding this until 8:00 , so my question now is can I use the distribution table you came up with, or do i find it online or is it something I have to create myself?
i am doing paired t's in Kellar and kelvin's "Statistical Methods for Healthcare Research." In their chapter, they appear to be subtracting the post from the pre. This makes the difference between a negative result and a positive. you are subtracting pre from post. What is the logic and does the order matter.? Also, how does one know when to use absolute values without a negative or positive? And, yes, these are well paced well organized great graphics thank you!
It doesn't matter whether you subtract pre from post or vice versa as long as you are consistent. If you are not sure that the test will lead to increased scores, you use a two-tailed test to allow for the possibility that the scores could decrease afterwards. As such, in that case you basically use the absolute value of your t-statistic when making the decision. You could also think of it as "reject the null if the test statistic is greater than the critical value, or less than the negative of the same critical value." If you only expect the test to raise scores, then the difference of (before - after) should be negative, leading you to perform a LEFT tailed t-test, and if the t-statistic is below the negative critical value, you reject the null. If you still expect the test to raise scores, but subtract (after - before), those differences should be positive, leading to a RIGHT tailed test with the same critical value, just positive in nature. Here, you essentially don't have to worry about the order of subtraction because you're testing for an effect in either direction (that's what a two-tailed test means). Does this help?
Hello dear I enjoy your video Would you help me how compute questionnaires Raw Likert Scale data I mean to construct paired sample T-test of Likert Scale data
Hey! I just want to know if the t test of correlated mean (dependent) and uncorrelated mean (independent) was formulated by william s. Gosset. ASAP thanks
Tell us parametric n nonparametric test, more t test with easy questions, f test ,Mann Whitney, wilcoxon, kruskal wallice tests, eta coefficient, phi coefficient,bi serial, point be serial coefficient, contingency coefficient via chi sqare plz
@statisticsfun suppose i have data of 3 year....10-11,11-12,12-13.....than can i do trend analysis? if no than which type of hypothesis shud i do in my research.?

Please cover: When to use t-test, z-test, f-test etc. I admire how you explain statistics clear and simple.
Oh my god i never thought i would ever say this but i actually understood maths properly and enjoyed it. Thank you so much!
love the way you teach. the videos are so helpful. the worst thing you can do with statistics is to teach it in big blocks of texts.
How awesome you are Sir! Great explanation! step by step with a very clear voice and strategies of teaching that makes much easier to understand.
Much appreciation!
I hear that a lot. Professors make things too complicated. Good luck in your classes too. And thanks for the feedback.
Loved it. Now I'm just battling with levels of confidence. Since in my asignment has a range from >x% to
thank u very much sir. I'm suffering from eczema and stress from math triggers it especially when i do math projects like these. This helped me a lot. More power to you and your channel. Rest more study less!
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!!!! Thank you so much! my professor makes everything so complex!!
It was lovely experience sir I learnt it before 1day of my exam and I was very helpful to me

how did we find out this example was two -tailed ????
I loved you videos and they taught me a lot,
Could you please explain, Why do you prefer two tailed test on single tailed test. ?
Big thumbs up for this video. Made simple and easy THANK YOU
Thank you for your very clear explanation.

you saved my existence
This video is so easy to follow and it explains how to do a t-test step by step making it easy to understand. Great video!
Please keep 'em coming. Very nice.
I truly appreciate your presentation. What application do you use to move characters and images around on the white screen? If it's not top secret.

No, Fatima, I did not. Sorry

Hello dear
I enjoy your video
Would you help me how compute questionnaires Raw Likert Scale data
I mean to construct paired sample T-test of Likert Scale data
a question: Is it always the post test minus the pre-test or any way? Is it correct to have a negative value when calculating the difference
great video. posted on my blog.thanks
This was awesome - Thanks!!
Very useful video, thanks
i am very thankful with your tutorial, how to do this on exel?
Great Graphics!
Good job! Excellent.
This was so helpful thank you :)
