Funny to hear you talking about telco stuff. I worked for a CLEC about 20 years ago. I was rarely a field guy though. It was right when dsl was getting going.
Nice review. I do think you could spend slightly more money and have a more usable generator. These go for about $300, and for $360 you can get a Pulsar that's rated 1800/2300 watts. There's also a Champion that's rated at 1700/2000 and costs just over $400. With 50% more power you could probably run a full size fridge and a space heater at the same time in a power outage. With this, you're probably going to have to choose. Just my two cents.
Yeah,... These have the exact same 80cc engine as the 2300/1800 units so I wonder if these would actually be the same total unit just down rated with a decal to offer a cheap leader ? OR they are old stock & the manufacturer has tweaked more out of the electricals to produce the new models.
@@SuperFastRc Sams Club recently had an A-iPower 80cc 2300/1800 with wheels & handle kit, tools, oil, funnel, battery cables, parallel cable & RV plug and 3 yr warranty for $349 with free delivery if you are a PLUS member or pick up from store which is pretty amazing
@@davidyummus6259 Could be. I suspect the electrical components might vary between brands. Amazon has had the Champion on sale for $341 as recently as yesterday. That's a pretty great deal as well, and it's very well reviewed.
@@jshepard152 Right, it all comes down the to actual stator and inverter rating that is installed in each unit that would determine the rating. The engines themselves are probably the same.
F'k Buffalo Tool Sportsman generators. I've 80+ hours on this AP1500i in low rpm "ECO MODE" and it's running great! After the first 8hr "break in" I began using Mobile One full synthetic 10w-30 with 1oz 2stroke mix per gal gas. I'm getting 8+hrs per gallon in low rpm mode charging batteries (8amps) and running a JBL PARTYBOX 110 drawing 275 watts to power/charge 160+ watts rms.
Have you ever loaded up this unit to see what it will run ? Im asking because it has the same 79cc engine, same size, weight, Db rating as 2500/1850 watt units so I am wondering why they would down rate the generator side.
I like things that have a little bigger engine for it's class but 80cc for what this puts out is a little much. I mean you could get a generator that has 1600-1800 Running watts with an 80cc engine and if you weren't running it at full load, ir would use exactly the same fuel as this one at the same load, it would just be soooo much more capable. Wen makes a 1250W generator that is 60cc that would provide a fuel savings.

Dsl is still a thing, its on its last leg though

All very valid points!

I have a full week of 24/7 runtime on this one and it still runs and starts like new.
@@SuperFastRc How many hours between oil changes. Which oil, please?
Could barely hear what you were saying when you were outside
Yeah, sorry early video. Audio is much improved now
@@SuperFastRc Does it say how many amps it has? Didn't see it on the spec sheet.
@@tomtee4442 by calculation it should be about 10.5 to 11 amps running load. It peaks higher but running i would load it up at about 10 max

Can u use 5 w30 oil as well ?
It will probably be fine but most of these are 10w 30
@@SuperFastRc thanks got a -ipower ap2250i invertor generator was jus wondering if u can use both i live in the tropics
That’s a right handed generator so it doesn’t like starting left handed.
😅
