Billie Eilish told Vanity Fair: “When I was 12, I saw Aurora’s ‘Runaway’ music video.Something inside me clicked, like, that is what I want to do, no matter whether it goes anywhere or not.”
I recently found what is probably the first time Billie Eilish mentioned Aurora and Runaway:
She played early in her career in the Norwegian music festival by:Larm 2018 on March 1st 2018, and she was interviewed by Norwegian radio which was aired on March 12th 2018, where she talked about Runaway.
The Vanity Fair article is from May 2018, and the famous video clip from The Lounge on Q101 / WKQX 101.1 FM was recorded on Oct 29th 2018.
Always a pleasure to listen to Aurora, even if she's even better live (in exemple, this live version of this same song: Aurora x Pomme - Live on RHYTHM BY MODZIK: th-cam.com/video/yX8bYwl9rKc/w-d-xo.html which also has the kind of "bard style" -), as her way of delivering is physical as much as vocal. The french part is sung by Pomme (meaning "apple", her true name being Claire Pommet), you can see her in the video given above.

Aurora Aksnes, 27, from Norway. She started forming melodies from age 6...with words coming around age 9. Singer-songwriter, producer, dancer and choreographer. She is self taught in all aspects apart from ballet lessons from age 6, progressing into interpretive dance until age 16. If you intend to react to more Aurora you won't regret it. A true artist that stands above the world of the fake mainstream garbage of today.
I just love Aurora and her music and it was a pleasure to see this reaction. This song is incredible and lyrics are poetic and dreamy. Good news is that she has so many great songs and it is worth to jump to this "rabbit hole". Actually she is my favorite Artist from the time I discovered her music:).
I am from Poland too but Aurora is from Norway :). She is songwriter, producer, singer, play piano (and some other instrument but in lesser extend) and very unique personality:). She is also natural artist as she did not have any formal lessons. She started to play piano from 6 years old and make English lyrics from 8 years old (for first years even her parents did not know that she make music). Very interesting person and a Artist:).

When Billie Eilish was about 12 years old she watched Aurora’s MV “Runaway”, and she thought that “this is what I want to do wether it goes anywhere or not.” So Billie was inspired by Aurora.
