Can't agree more about the quality and value for money of Lukas' work. Had both ESAII units on my 2012 Rt done a couple of months ago - transformed it from a bike I was on the point of selling to an absolute joy to ride. Fraction of the cost of even budget replacement units.

    Hi Nick,
Great video, I had the misfortune of killing my GSA 1250 shock yesterday, I followed your instructions to the T, the shock is now on its way to Lucas. Cant wait to see the result. Thanks again for your help.

My R1200GS shock failed on a round Britain trip. Sent it to T-Tech for a rebuild and upgrade. I can't fault their professional service. Repaired and returned in a week 👍🏼

Outstanding….it’s way beyond my capabilities, doing anything like what you have done, found it really interesting….I think my rear shock absorber is fairly basic, I seem to feel every awful bump on our Jersey roads, think I need to see if I can soften it, or as I suspect, next year get a much higher quality shock absorber next year for my NC750DCT….very impressive video and well worth the expenditure…thanks for sharing.

The nc750x does lack in the suspension department, unfortunately. But they're great for the money. Thanks for the kind words, Karl

Great job mate , i really enjoy you guys videos . I had to get the same done to my 2009 GS/A poverty pack when i owned it @ 60000 klms from new . After owing other GS 's from new , with the last one having multiple issues that eventually kept getting fixed at a cost , i came to the conclusion that BMW stands for -
    B ring
    M y
    W allet .
As much as i miss it , and the great touring ability it had , as i had many of great annual holidays away on it , easily doing 800 - 1000 klms a day while touring , i dont miss the expensive repair costs , and initial purchase price cost of them . I now have a SUZUKI VSTROM 650 , it does everything that i want it to do with enough powe for me , and i have just as much fun on it , at a 3 rd of the new price tag of a new BMW GS . At times i think of getting another one , but then i think of the cost and issues i had with the last one i had , i change my mind pretty quickly , but i do miss it when out on a ride at times , especially when touring and carting your gear with you in the big aluminium pannier boxes ,
    Take care you guys .

Hi Brett, I agree bmw service costs are pretty up there as one of the most expensive. If i wasn't a mechanic i would think twice about buying one as my wallet isn't so big. I think if you're getting one on a pcp deal getting a new one every 3 years that's not too bad. or the 2013-2018 models would be a better choice as they are fairly easy to work on, the valves are easy to get to, the rear final drive is simple too. I just love how the bike makes you feel when you hop on it, that in itself outweighs any other negatives i may have with the bike. Thanks for the comment bud, ride safe,

My 2014 GSA had both front and back units re sealed after both were leaking with 20k miles on the clock, only 500 miles later the back started leaking oil again, I would go for a wilber unit the OEM Sachs shock is not worth spending money on

At T Tech, they replace the pistons to fit snug with the original body. If the body is out of tolerance, they will replace it. This is a much cheaper option and comes with a warranty.

Good video. Why didn't you set SAG and Rider SAG (the computer doesn't do that)? And match the shock rebound to fork rebound?🕊

Remove this, and remove this. REMOVE ALL THE THINGS! 😁
5 day turnaround for that work? That's impressive.
Man, I do need to try a R1250GS. Maybe ask the shop when I've got my girl on service this monday if they've got a demo bike 🤔

@@nicksepisodebut what was the price in total? I replaced mine with Wilbers with a spring, sized for my usage, and this was 1100 € in total. And this one is way better than the original.
