wow too much fun Jon, in all the years iv'e been shooting iv'e never seen a steyr semi auto in the three gun shops where I go too. looks the business the laminate stock looks the part. quick firing at the targets 50 meters good grouping mate another great review 😄 👍
Well done Jon cracking review of a cracking gun, I had to wait for you to take it back so I could handle it, very tempted but I think I will stay with the 5A.
Hi Jon, thanks for the mention at the beginning of the video mate. Really enjoying your reviews mate. I’ve changed my mind with the cricketII Mate, I’m keeping the vixen. I think this gun is terribly over priced mate I don’t like the trigger guard at all that’s a terrible design! I don’t think this would out shoot my Revere or vixen for accuracy mate and it costs nearly 3/4 times the amount of money! It looks like a terribly unbalanced gun I may be wrong as Ive never seen one but thanks for the review mate your a top fella. Keep em coming Jon.
I would have to take the barrel out and get it professionally threaded. For that kind of money, that should be be standard with a with a thread Protector and it should also come with two magazines in my opinion.
I know you blame yourself about the accuracy but I must admit I was pretty disappointed when I've seen you shoot much tighter shots with less expensive rifles. I have at least three rifles at half it's price in my collection that would easily outperform it. I think the trouble is that most people get carried away with being able to just rattle off that many shots that quick as it is quite a novelty. I'm sure after a while that can get pretty boring, though, and only then can you finally take it seriously and achieve the accuracy I seen others get. I do actually believe it is a very accurate rifle (because at the end of the day, that's the most important factor).
Good video again really enjoy your reviews, I think you were using the wrong pellets in that rifle I have both the steyr hunting 5 in .177 and also the Pro x scout in .22 and both guns are pellet on pellet at 40 yards and clover leaf at 50 yards unfortunately your results are nowhere near as accurate as the Steyr really performs with the right pellet. I’m just glad I bought mine before I saw this review otherwise I would never have bought them with accuracy shown here . Keep up the good work not blaming you for the accuracy you’ve just got to have time to find the right pellet kind regards michel👍
@@MeldelkelFor the hunting 5 A the best choice in my rifle are BSA Goldstar 1.77 / 4.52 Match Grade Premium Diablo domed pellets they won’t fall out of the magazines like the JSB pellets do , and are super accurate. The pro x scout in 22 shoot’s great with the popular JSB Exacts 15.89 gr
@ Hi for the hunting 5 A mine is 1.77 and find the BSA Goldstars MATCH GRADE PREMIUM DIABLO to be accurate and fit nice and tight into the magazines without falling out . For my PRO X SCOUT in .22 I use JSB EXACTS 15.89 grn.Hope this helps you kind regards.
Good review but not impressed with the accuracy of that at all. I have several rifles costing under £1k each that will happily out shoot that Styer at those distances. Seems like a lot of fuss and hype that the rifle accuracy doesn’t back up. Yeah I know “it’s a Styer” but for that money I’d be wanting one single hole from a magazine full of pellets. My HW100 beats that hands down!!
Heyup Robert, it's a case of the old slip on treatment, Styer make one for it, although you'd expect it to have 1/2 " unf for the price, Thanks for the feedback, cheers buddy, Jon 😁😁👍
Cracker of a video that jon. She eats pellets for breakfast 😅. Catch ya up soon 👍
