Where are you? Missing the Updates..
Faithful follower from Michigan here... Missing your progress.
I hope everything is okay.
That wall continued to get longer, taller as you guys worked. It’s such a unique home. That’s why I love it. You won’t find another one like it. There are many old stone built structures in Italy but none will be like your renovated beauty!
John Adams said, "Every problem is an opportunity in disguise.” You and Heather are living this. Just think about sitting on the terrace overlooking the valley with a glass of wine at sunset! 🥰
Heather is such a joy she is always laughing boy the work is beautiful
She is a great piece of sunshine that lights up my day ❣️🌞☀️
I am so happy to meet positive people in my life, they compensate for the grumpy naggers that there are too many of in this world. 😊
Brady and Heather are a power couple and I love their sweet girls. It is great to see such a happy family. ❤❤❤
Can’t wait to see “drywall episode.” The result will be profound - all the hard work will show itself once the walls are installed.
Brady, the concrete drainage is called a gutter.
You’ve done such beautiful work and you work so hard! I hope you and your family are able to enjoy it for many years to come.
This house is going to be beautiful. I love your guys’s way of life. You guys are hardworking people and have so much patience
It is for sure milon dollars in and, plus, labor free from the owner.. wery expensive proces
This project is certainly coming right along. I love how you've modified an older stone building from a by gone era, and brought new life to it!
It's nice to listen to instrumental music (without vocals) during the time lapses.
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve come to look forward to your videos each week. Even though I have no knowledge or interest in construction. I just enjoy watching your progress and I feel I’m beginning to get to know your family in a small way.
So nice to see you finally getting into the interior of the house... you're in the gravy now! 👍🏼🎉
Every sunday i work a 13.5 hour nightshift overtime, and this channel is the highlight every sunday when i can sit in my office and have a cup tea while watching my favourite channel. Thanks guys. Loving the progression from where it all began. ❤
We have been watching your videos week by week and enjoy them tremendously, it is fantastic seeing the stone house changing from nearly ruined to a living structure were you as a family will be able to live in. Sieg and Giesela, South Africa
Bravo for passing the flood test! A major achievement.
I have been following your stories for several weeks now. The problem with pipes that drain rainwater can be solved as you explained yourself, but because you want to make a terrace that is a lot higher, you can also opt for a less labor-intensive solution.
I have no idea how much higher the terrace will be, but I would leave the old drainage pipe in place and lay a new drainage pipe at the current level so that you do not have to dig out. The terrace elevation will cover the new drain pipe. You can connect this new pipe to the current rain drain on the roof.
You will have to replace the drain pipe under the road and if possible, I would put this pipe in a sleeve so that you can replace the pipe if necessary during later installations. Good Luck
That’s a good thought unless there is a reason he has to go all the way to ground level!
Lol I just posted the same thing way easier less time and less bother
Been there, done that. Come across the top of the existing terrace, join and upside down where you meet the other down pipe.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
And soon it will be the storybook home you dreamed of when you first saw it.
Utterly Amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey so far.
Storybook House !!
Wondering if you guys ever heard back from the Italian government regarding your visa status? I watch every week but it is possible I missed something. The house is coming along beautifully!
I was wondering that too.
My boyfriend is Italian and he had to go to the Italian consulate in America because in Italy it would have taken F O R E V E R haha
I stood outside the passport place in Italy a few months ago and let me say… it was dire hahaha Most the people in there made appointments 4 months before.
I really like your haircut son, hugs from Canada!
So do I🇫🇷
Nice to see the drains work after all the work you did! The house is coming along nicely, keep up the great work!
It will be so beautiful once you have finished inside. At this rate, it won't be long.
They are both instrumental and inspirational as a couple 👏🏾
hope you guys are ok...woke up sunday to no new videos....big hugs to alll!!!!!!
I've been following you guys since day one. I can't wait to see the finished product. Your house is going to be gorgeous. ❤
You guys are amazing. You have put so much work into this house. Really excited to see it finished.
Since replacing underground piping add water tank from roof rain water and use the saved water for garden or anything else
I did metal stud framing many years, that brought back memories. It must feel wonderful to finally get to the interior wall stage!
So delighted to see your progress towards drywall! You guys continue to inspire and impress us with your attitude of positivity💜💜💜
I am sure someone may have already mentioned this. Regarding your drain in the back of the house, I urge you to put in a screen or filter of some sort where it runs into that pipe from the back of the house. We have something similar at the entrance of our garage. No filter/screen where it runs into the septic drain. Over the years it's filled in with soot, dirt, leaves, everything imaginable. So it will clog up eventually. Tricky part is finding that happen medium where it's large enough to allow good/fast flow but small enough to capture the bad stuff. I guess you will never be able to filter out the small soot/dirt as a filter that small would prevent good flow. Just another armchair quarterback watching your channel and making suggestions 🙂
Thank you for the video and showing what great progress is going on inside! So epic that the water mitigation/diversion systems you have applied are working great job to all involved in planning and executing this feat.
Tears of Joy for you and your family! God Bless and Guide you.
Your initial hard work is showing well done to all artisans!
Impressive as always. It's going to be a wonderful home.
Hey Brady glad you found some time and managed to have a haircut!!!Your place is going to be magnificent. See you all next week!!!❤❤❤❤🇬🇷 🇬🇷 😊😊
Inside walls! Moving right along!
It’s such a complex renovation, I’m so impressed with your perseverance!😊
So cool! In a previous episode, I heard you speaking Italian. In this episode, you're speaking fluent metric!
🙋🏼♀️🕊. Everything is starting to turn the corner, you two are amazing. Blessings to you and your family.💞🕊💞🕊💞🕊🎶🎶
Gee…. thinking all of those suggestions are pretty good! Water goes wherever it can get, so warding off that entry is good. I remember hearing about fans running to aid in drying is also excellent.
Your work ethic is so fabulous, and your patience! A drystack wall is obviously like seive! Dirt sifts in, creatures and seeds love that kind of habitat, frankly. So, working hard to provide protection from all that is very astute……aaaand provides decorating relief from monotony of the stones. Good work to take such care and to review suggestions value/perceptions first.
A wonderful effort, a great team……Ginger from Michigan
Thank you for another fascinating and well done segment!! The amount and quality of work you have been doing is so impressive. It seems like you have all aspects of water intrusion covered. Mitigating potential issues with water intrusion always seems to present a challenge. Really enjoyed this video!! I must say Heather has the most strikingly beautiful smile. Another top notch production by the two of you!! Many thanks for sharing your journey with us!!
I get so excited to your progress… you all are amazing
Looking good guys until the finish line
Wow it’s really coming together. Love seeing the progress each week
Terrace ideal place to bury a big water storage tank. Great backup system!
Great job Brady and Heather.
So happy to see so much getting accomplished
New haircut, Brady.... looks good and fresh
I am truly enjoying watching the house building process!
What a hard working crew!
I like watching you make coffe for you and the crew…
Every time I see it, I think holy buckets! That stuff is STRONG!
😉😂🤣
Woo hoo working on the inside now! Cant wait till you can put doors and windows in!
Suggestion: Put a wire cover on that main drain hole at the end of the slope. You DO NOT WANT that plugged up by some lose stone or stick. The wire cover is peace of mind that can be cleaned.
YES! GREAT suggestion about wire mesh over the drainage holes ...indeed it would flood again if those drainage holes get blocked up!!
Or goat!
It's going to be a wonderful home.
still amazed how those orange bricks doesn't need any steel reinforcement
Great vid craftsmanship is excellent keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I hope everything is ok!! Sending good vibes from Brazil.
I love these guys! Hats off to them for making their dream home in Italy Brady works so hard! He’s like the energetic bunny! When they get to move in will be a red letter day!IMO
You must be getting more excited with every new process. Stay strong and have a great week ahead!
Hello you 2, I missed your update this last Sunday. I hope all is OK, after reading about the rain and 5 inch hail storms. You're in my thoughts....
so glad you fixed the water problem....this house is gonna be so beautiful!
You guys work good together!!❤❤I've been getting sooo excited for your videos since the fun part is here!!!!
Bravo you guys ❤
Finally drywall - wow what a project be glad you’re young and have the energy for a forever home- I can’t wait wait to see how all this diligent work turns out. So happy to see the community of workers that have helped and guided this process. We get to our goals when we lift each other - bravo!
Your excellent work is really paying off. Not only solid but incredibly beautiful!!❤️
thank you for sharing i always like to watch the progress of your home
Hard hard work ! All coming together ... one of these days .....
I can see it !! Can't wait for more! What do the girls think?
those fine stone walls
looking great!! what a team!!
I was waiting for todays video 😢
What a relief that your drainage systems are working after that huge rain storm you just had. Congratulations on all your hard work paying off. The only thing that I would suggest is that you put some kind of screen or a grate over that hole in the back of the house because you’re not going to be able to clean it out if it gets plugged up. I’m struggling with simple downspouts on my house getting clogged so I can only imagine dirt and leaves and what not piling up inside the drain behind the terrace. Just a thought! 😊
ABSOLUTELY!!! Flooding will commence again if those drains get blocked!!!
Great job you guys! It's coming along! Blessings!
watching your Progress being Made. it will be a wonderful home to raise those girls. Jane in Okla City, Okla.
Howdy neighbor ...from Tulsa!
I cant wait to see the house all finished. Good luck.❤
Wow!!! That’s incredible project!
Good luck to you !
It would be hard to decide how much stone to cover. I’ve seen places where they cover most of the inside walls and places where they kept most of the original stone. In my opinion… I think something in the middle is the best. But it really depends on the persons personality and lifestyle. I think 1-2 stone walls in each room would be magical. But in the room with the fireplace… all stone walls would be awesome. Can’t wait to see.
You both look great, and the house is looking real tight! Great work ❤
Did I just hear you say half a centimeter???? 😂 super! Well done 😊
So long as the one with the saw knows the one with the tapes lingo alls good , we use milliwobblers , pubes and 2 marks past the big number ..Ca plan pour moi .
Home sick today instead of at church. Got so excited to see you posted!! 🎉 Heather is just like my wife many years ago when we your age, right in the middle of the action, helping anyway she could. She slowed down a bit after putting the last nail in a new roof we installed together and she hit her thumb with a 16 oz hammer. 😮
Been there done that can really hurt!
Yikes!
Have you thought about abandon the inground drain pipes.Plumb new lines on the ground and go in ground at the front corner of the house then under the road
Nice to have Heather’s infectious giggle back!❤ 😊 Good team work. ❤
Omg how annoying …..
@@irenekegel5988Seriously?!? I LOVE to hear happy and cheerful people instead of grumpy naggers. 😉♥️
So do I, she is a piece of sunshine that lights up my day❣️🌞☀️
Hope the facades dry wall works for you. I've seen many instances of moisture accumulation , with significant mold growth, along with vermin infestation, where this approach is used with historical stone structures.
How exactly? ...And why does it get moldy? Should they have used bathroom-type mold-resistant wallboard? What works, if not drywall?
@@kindlydude humid warm air from the inside will make condensation in the cold stones. This will lead to mold.
Better a thick layer of lime plaster or hempcrete. In Europe we have insulating lime plasters.
@kindlydude unless you isolate the exterior surface with membrane, including the subfloor, then water will move through via capillarity into the void, both laterally and vertically. Mold will accumulate. We plaster our walls with a breathable lime plaster, dehumidify during winter, ventilate well and that works OK.
Keep smiling always as you build your wonderful dreams. God bless
I love watching you guys!!! I can't wait until Sunday comes around for a new episode!! You guys have done a wonderful job!!!
Hope you guys are ok. We missed you last Sunday,
I have been enjoying your videos with you remodeling your beautiful Italian stone home!! The latest video i can find is the one with you finishing the stones on the outside of your new room. I have been praying for Heathers dad to recover and for your marriage to be strengthend and draw closer to the Lord because only GOD ALMIGHTY could give you the strength to do what you all do and to not get badly hurt !! Everyone that has remodeled a house has told me it takes a toll on a marriage!! Especially all what you have been through!! May the Good Lord bless you and keep you safe, you and your children!! I appreciate you more than you will ever know!! ❤❤❤😎👍
The progress you have made is outstanding. You have worked so hard and it’s looking wonderful.
Sunday, July 7th
Brady and Heather-We’ve been watching news footage this past week on the storms and deadly flooding that’s been happening there in Italy. Are you and your girls okay?
I look forward to your videos. Very much enjoying watching the progress of your beautiful house. It's going to be epic when it's all done. 😊
Yay! No flooding! Good job! So interesting to see all you’ve done.
I’m just wondering, did you ever think everything would be so complicated when you bought your dream home? You certainly do take each task as it comes.
Yes we knew it was going to be a long road
I like your new hair cut. And you both are doing amazing
Like the hair cut, looks so much better.
You could always put small plexy glass view ports into parts of the wall. That way you can still see the stone in different parts of the house without losing any of the protection.😁
I like that idea. Instead of hanging art, arrange see-throughs!
Hi from Australia, what an amazing home you will have when it's finished, to any negitive comments I say try doing a project like this. You guys have great work ethics and a beautiful vision ❤️ sending blessings 🙌
I would have partially rendered the end wall to keep the majority of stone exposed. I’ve seen that in other Italian homes.
I was nervous for a second. I thought you were going to cover the beams. Whew! Amazing work thus far.❤
Such a joy to hearing Americans embracing the metric system ie mm and metres instead of measurement feet and 6/10ths (or something similar) What no cement but for how long! Rich W Ely UK
First started watching you guys when you did van life trip with Stephen & Jess and have enjoyed your journey of finding and building your forever home. It’s really coming together now. I’m sure all the hard work will be worth it 🙂👏
Hi, the work continues. Maybe I haven't seen it but the rainwater drain always needs an inspection well so that if it gets blocked you avoid digging up half a mountain. Same problem for the downpipes, they must be mounted under each of these.
There will be a clean out under the hole, nothing will get clogged.
@@RaisingVoyagers Ok, there are many models of storm water catch basin in plastic easily installed
Greetings from Thailand 🇹🇭 I enjoy watching your tireless dedication to bringing your family home back from the dead. You are doing an incredible job. I wonder , as a major influencer, do you do any research on the products that sponsor you before you promote them. Such as Ag1 ? There seems to be a lot of controversy around that unregulated company.
Brilliant
What happened to our Voyagers? No word makes us worried!
No worries. They replied two days ago saying that they are taking a week off :-)
If you think about it, there were huge, damaging storms not too far from them..... do a bit of research and you will see. The good news is they get a break to relax and be with the girls.
