I'm flying from Sydney to Sunshine Coast and buying one in 2 days time, pretty excited but nervous as it's a big drive for a car I have not seen yet... wish me luck team!! East Coast of aus in my first drive of it....
I remember Stu's Perentie getting stolen and him hunting it down where it had been abandoned. It's a nice vehicle he really loves it despite his affected indifference!
You're right, he does love that old car and was rather put out when it was pinched, happy eending though. It is strange to form an attachment to such things, my (none landy) farm ute just died which has saddened me, almost 400,000 kms in that old car, going to auctions, dragging landys and old caravans out of the bush, fishing adventures, camping trips, I sure will miss it. Perhaps a Perentie replacement or perhaps I will be more adult and get another sensible car for work.
I last drove one around 20 years ago, the heater controls didn't work then, which was great in a NQ summer. I drove it out bush for a month, then jumped into my Suzuki Sierra and nearly put the clutch pedal through the floor.
Thanks Smurf, glad you enjoyed it. Yer, we will see if I can find one affordably, I do need a new work truck rather urgently as my old (no Landy) work ute has just died.
Hi Steve thanks for the great review/test drive, I would still like, to have my own, one of these days, never say never, keep safe and well, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne.
you made my day...!! nice and funny film. fantastic landrover, you both remind me a little bit like STAN and OLLI, G-SUS... best greetings from a protestant in germany
Another great video,I like it when you can take the piss out of your mates? About there cars, and no one gives a fig you just laugh it off(top man),I have got a series 2a 1965,2.5 na diesel(i know it should be 2.25 but the engine was changed before I got it),I have tried three of four retailers on eBay for the( start ya bastard) but nobody is willing to post it to brum, could you possibly help out ,if you can I would be extremely grateful, hope to hear from you soon, many thanks colin, look after yourself.
@@graemelliott3942 No, they were bought from LR in knockdown form so that the chassis could be reinforced then galvanised, and a 3.9 litre Isuzu diesel installed. Perentie was the Army’s name for them.

Thank you! Another fantastic day with the rovers and the boys!
Thanks, it was a fun day, glad you enjoyed it too :-)

Ha ha, Yes a very heavy clutch in a nice warm car :-)
Best double act I've seen for a while 😂
Ha thanks Hammy, we are like the 3 stooges but there's only two of us :-)
Awesome video. Has me laughing all the way. You will not regret getting a perentie. It is my favourite land rover.

Those dings every time Stu says "right" 🤣💀

Thanks Les, they still look to be relatively affordable albiet a little hard to find in my area.
Great to hear some normal non pc blokey banter not often found on youtube. Lol.
Ha, that's us being PC :-) its hard to edit around at times...

Well done....alway humour, love it. Can you give us a sneak peak of what the Landy in the mountains auction is? Any chance it's a 1968 2A 88?
Always a chance it is David ;-) you'll have to wait till next week though.
Wouldn't mind seeing more of the Carryall/Senior Command.
There was a little bit more of it in last weeks episode.

Musicians joke! Love it. 😂😂
Its a good gag and a very nice chord also
Stu, stick to outboards mate. Lol. And Steve when’s the South Coast branch of the Landie Nuts happening?
Man. I’d love a Perentie, I’d settle for a regular 110pickup if anyone wants to swap for a Jimny 😂
Ha ha I give you many points and kudos for trying Simon :-)
Missed the purpose of the "gong" and white numbers coming up in the first half of the video.
"Right" count right :-)
What does Parentie mean?
It’s a type of lizard endemic to Western Australia.
@@bigm383 Did Land Rover officially name them Parentie

@@bigm383 I get it now! thank you for the explanation! They are truly a special vehicle.
@@graemelliott4215 I’d love to buy a hardtop version but they are pretty rare, expensive and would compete for motorcycle finances!
