    This is the best MGB how to video I’ve ever seen. Nice one, mate.

    Outstanding video. For us folks that have wire wheels. Don't forget the splines on the knock off wheels.

      Many thanks for your comment - fair point - as you saw, I have minilites so don't have to deal with splines!

    Such a great and useful video. I drove my 72 MGB that I am presently restoring from 77-81 prior to storage and NEVER greased it! In replacing the entire swivel assemblies recently, I noticed that the parts arrived ungreased so your video is a timely one! Also, I loved the dual camera angles through the use of a GoPro. Santa has one under the Christmas tree for me that I will put to good use. Another great Video!

      Many thanks for your comment - I was told that not greasing the joints will cause wear very quickly... that said, another viewer noticed my track rod end rubbers were a bit worn so that's a job for after Christmas! :-)

      @ I have previous commented. I’d like to know where to Jack up the car front and back using a scissor Jack as an emergency roadside wheel change. Thanks

    Like the end on your grease gun, might have to get one of those.

      Thanks for your comment - I really struggled with the standard one and was worried about damaging the nipple when removing the grease gun with the standard coupler. The one I bought was this one - amzn.to/41Jn90b

      @ follow your videos all the time. I’ve been a mechanic all my life, greasing so that it’s just showing past the seals is sufficient. I’ve got a 68 gt.

      @@AndrewTimms-o4t I was taught to pump plenty in so it forces all the old grease out - probably someone wanting to sell me grease!!! :-)

      Many thanks for your comment - yes, the ramp is a real game changer but, as you can hear from the video, its really because I have a breathing issue which makes lugging trolley jacks around hard work. I do need to use one occasionally when I need just one half of the car in the air...

    Looks like you need to replace your track rod ends as the rubbers are split.

      Many thanks for your comment - good spot. The car's on the ramp at the moment as I'm dealing with the surface rust and lanoguarding it so I'll take a closer look and replace if necessary!

    Was trying to work out what blue roll was. Then it dawned on me that you are referring to, what we called in the Australia Army, ROAR, Rag On A Roll. Now I need to watch again and pay more attention. Love the videos and frankly quite jealous of your MGB GT as I a have admired these cars since my childhood. Cheers

      Many thanks for your comment - sorry I should have exp0lained what blue roll is! I'm very proud of the GT and have waited a long time to get one as like you, I've wanted one for many years!

    You forgot the hardy spicer joint on the propshaft! I think you pumped half a cartridge of grease into the splined sliding joint which might give it a hydraulic lock when the rear suspension moves up and down ! Otherwise great work 👌

    • @ClassicMGB
      @ClassicMGB  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your comment. That said, I'm a bit confused because according to the workshop manual, there's only one grease point on the propshaft.. which bit did I miss? Also, I thought it was a good idea to pump plenty of grease through any joint to drive out any of the old worn out grease - is this not the right approach?

    • @012454000
      @012454000 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ there’s usually one actually on the hardy spicer joint in between two of the lobes itself, there is on ours , but sometimes if it’s been replaced they come as a sealed unit and there’s no grease nipple hope this clarifies it 👍

      Many thanks for your comment. We got the ramps from Equipment4garages. I actually visited them to check that I could fit my lowered GT on the ramp. We did a video when we got the ramp here - th-cam.com/video/ZcczNl7JblI/w-d-xo.html

    • @ClassicMGB

      Thanks for your comment - I think the recommended interval is every 3000 miles, but I do it a bit more frequently - probably 1500-2000 miles - I reckon that the fresher the grease the better, but I might be wrong!
