So glad my new chevy trail boss was ordered from the factory by Champion Chevrolet in Johnson citymTN with the surround view camera package. That will come in very handy while driving on these types of trails.
The National Parks Forest service closed down the Old House Gap road last year and probably never open it back up to vehicles again! That's what a Ranger told me when I was there last fall!
@@EverymanOverland I live very close to there and ride my dual sport motorcycle around that area almost every week, I'll try and keep people updated of what's happening with the road!
Thanks homie. We have a few more trips planned for this year, hopefully we keep getting good footage all the while. I just ordered a new computer too, as the laptop I've been using for editing was just over matched by trying to process 4k. So editing took forever, and as it crashed constantly I wasn't really willing to do too much editing trickery. So here's to hoping I can step up the editing a bit too.
I appreciate the trail footage but MAN!! I can't support driving through that road construction zone. Looked like they had worked to smooth that area out.
You're right, I totally shouldn't have gone through there. Though it doesn't excuse it, I wouldn't have gone through if the other cars ahead of us wouldn't have already gone. It was a dick move for sure, and if the road crew sees this, y'all have my apologies.
You'll make it so long as you're ok with some pinstripes. Your bumpers may touch here and there, and I wouldn't go alone just in case. But you could certainly get the truck through.
It took us probably 2 or 3 hours, it was probably 2 or 3 miles long... But last I knew it's still closed. They closed it for "maintenance" about 2 weeks after we ran it and like I say I think it's still closed.
@@EverymanOverland ahh man. That stinks if it’s still closed down. You should try horse creek. It’s off 107 in Chuckey, TN. Horse creek park. It’s a cool trail too. Just drive to the park and stay on the road. It continues on past the parking area and starts turning into the trail. Nice lookout from the top too! It’s always gated off Ayer the lookout area and you have to go back down the trail. But it’s cool. Takes a few hrs also!
@@appalachhaun_adventures the two trails were actually very comparable. Hurricane is probably a bit longer, and if course is still open... But they're very similar.
@@Salty_reviews ironman? They're good stuff coming out of Australia I believe. They're the ones with the neon green springs. So far Jay has been very happy with his suspension. Look them up, they also sell a ton of recovery gear, RTT, all kinds of stuff.

I haven't used cameras while wheeling yet, but they look nice. Especially with a full size...
Good tread isn’t only relevant on the truck but also for the spotters and film crew 😂
Beautiful scenery you all are trekking through. Looks like fun. 👍
If we ever get out that far, I wanna camp and wheel in your neck of the woods....

Yup. I suspect the same that it'll never reopen. I'm glad we got the chance to see it when we did...

Nice vid man, some good offroad action! Keep it coming brotha!

4:05... where do I know that music from... its driving me crazy.
Not sure... I get my music from epidemic sound, so it's very possible some other channel has used it in their videos...
Nice video ... Is old house gap open ???
My understanding is they closed it a week or two ago likely for the rest of the year. We got lucky and were there the weekend before it was closed.
Likelihood of a 4dr Silverado making it through these trails? 3” Suspension lift, 33” All Terrains, and rear locking diff

How long was the old house gap rd trail? Like how many hrs and miles?

What was all that popping on the Taco? It really didn't sound good at all.
Honestly I'm not sure, and you're right! It sounded horrible. Since then we swapped it to a foam cell ironman kit, haven't heard that noise since...
@@EverymanOverland Never heard of that suspension till now.

Don’t wear Crocs in slippery terrain… way to far from hospitals for that stupidity.
I second the motion...
Great video, do you have any other social media please?
At the moment we only have a Facebook page, and that mostly just echoes these videos.
