I found you by accident....boy I am happy about it! Your video is wonderful, you speak English very nicely, and your technique is awesome! I will apply your teachings in my work for sure, and thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I just got an inlay kit today it fits the cheapo Katsu trim router, I used uv resin with crushed mother of Pearl and a gold flake outline in bow tie inserts on walnut for a tissue box lid, I’m pretty dang impressed with the outcome. Excellent video I love this type of stuff 👌
I really hope I remember this after surgery. I'll be functionally blind for a couple weeks then I really want to try some of these techniques for Christmas presents.
Save the video, I have probably 20 different playlists I save videos under. Ex; Carpentry projects, safety videos (for work) then everything is organized to go back and watch again later.
Technique #3: Neutral Color Glow Powder and Casting Resin in Ebony for fretmarkers :) Casting Resin takes a bit more hardening time (24 hrs at room temperature to set and 72 to dry), but awesome results. I only need to remember to NOT radius the fretboard before doing the inlay! also, if the fret slots are cut, teflon tape (plumber's tape) the slots! excellent video.
@@KingBespokeCreations more detailed tid-bits..it's all learning from mistakes, hopefully on scraps, not projects, but...sometimes we fly by the seat of our pants, so to say. A re-fillable Butane Cigar lighter can get the bubbles out, too.
Tagua nut! It's machinable and translucent. I have cut the nut into slices, shaped the slices on my CNC to perfect circles and arcs, and then inlayed those pieces into cavities that have a central through hole, painting the floor of the cavity white. Then, an LED is put behind the piece, and it all lights up (pretty well) when the LED turns on. Had I used the UV resin technique you showed over top of the pieces, it would have worked even better. Whether you wish to light up your inlays or not, it's a great material to work with and not so difficult or expensive to purchase.
Thank you for the inspiration and some really nice tips 👍. I think you missed one, though, router inlay templates. They are a bit limiting but a good option for beginners.

Acrylic pouring paint can give some really unusual colours and patterns. Very much enjoying your videos
Glad you like them!
I am going to try out your techniques! Thanks for the how to on this topic!
Try and mix them up too 👍
Love that last inlay Chris!
The easiest but definitely not the least effective! 👍

I also use the same stuff for binding, rarely. It's a bit messy if the makeshift mold leaks even a bit...but GLOW binding is so tempting to do...🤣
Thanks for the tips!

Epoxy dust contributes to the microplastic pollution of waters and marine life.
Thank you so much. You have inspired me tremendously.
That’s great to hear! Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing video. Brilliantly explained ❤
Glad I could help, hope you create something amazing!

Really enjoyed this. Stumbled across some of your carving videos a few days ago and now subscribed. Keep going with the techniques and tips and tricks
Awesome, thank you!

There’s loads of ways to get going. Find a few you love 👍
Thank you for all the videos They have been a great inspiration to me, do you think mixing the resin with sawdust would be a useful filler?
It’s worth a shot! Generally I would use sawdust and wood glue or CA glue. But resin is very similar to a thick CA glue 👍
@@KingBespokeCreations ok, thanks for the reply👍👍
Level the workpiece if using the UV resin. It's easier to fill the cavity.
Top tip 👍
I want to add an inlay to my bass guitar
Interested in where you got the random buck of stuff from, or is it just odds and ends collected over time. Thanks.
If we wanted, could we do the carving and dyed super glue from Technique 2 on Technique 3?
Yes absolutely! Try every combination you can think of!
I enjoy the guitar work bits are you a luthier by chance??
Yes, Self thought from lots of general woodworking 👍
The one you want is *always* at the bottom of the jar. That’s just how it works
So true
what kind of wood would you recommend closest to white after all?
Maple would be a good choice
Holly is quite white and a joy to work with, though only available in relatively small pieces. Can also bleach the color out of wood.
What polish exactly is that ?
The polish is Autosol then covered with danish oil. 👍
The gold dust will go rverywhere if I sneeze on it... Ask me how I know???!!!!
