That bamboo tile would look absolutely phenomenal! But I agree, way too much maintenance involved, they would be so hard to clean! I agree with your tile choices totally, we have dark grey tile, with a dark grey grout and our water is horrifically hard but they have really come up well xx

Hi Kerry, we have 15cm square porcelain tiles in our shower area with black grout and if I was to choose again, I’d go big format tiles in the shower area as the grout can be hard to clean and goes white ( I have to scrub it with an old tooth brush). We don’t live in a hard water area either. Just throwing my two penny’s worth in. I love the chevron though and might look nice above the vanity units and then of you can get bigger tiles in the same material for the shower…. That would be amazing!
We got our water softener second hand for about £800 admittedly a few years ago. Think it was from a company called Scum and Scale but others must do it too. Lasted us for 10 years and was still working when we moved away. Hope this information helps. Looks like your renovation is coming on nicely xx

I agree with Dom about putting a loft hatch in the cinema room because I don’t think having access to the storage area from the bathroom would be practical since it would take up space and I noticed you were struggling with the layout of the bathroom in last week’s video. ♥️
Yes exactly.. it makes much more sense accessing it from downstairs too instead of through the bathroom! We have managed to find a really good bathroom layout now so we can fit everything in now! Woohoo!! Xxx

All coming together exciting times love the chevron tiles and the long one not keen on the round one as I always think about the cleaning of tiles, wow that TV is massive never have to go to the cinema again my son would love it he's doing up his house at the moment building a balcony out from there bedroom.♥️

If your looking for a water softener we’ve got one called Aquabion which fits onto the pipe under your kitchen sink, much better than having to buy salt all the time.
When I moved 5 years ago, I put in a water softener because of all the nasty buildup so I can attest to the importance of having one. I simply can’t wait to see the tile in place. Also, are you going to show us kitchen plans? 🏡
Aahh that’s so good to hear this as we are really struggling to decide if we should spend money on the softener or not.. but I know we wouldn’t regret it! Yes!! @@KerryWhelpdale Brighton suffers with hard water being in a chalk area (basically anywhere in the south east) but as our reservoirs are on the downs its especially hard over 200ppm.

Wow forgot its Thursday today how the time is flying by if I was chosing tile I'd go for the chevron and the hexagonal light grey one but in lighter colours as I'm not a fan of dark stuff but will be interesting to see how what you have chosen looks when it's all done you might even convert me to dark. Roll on next week.
That attic space is really quite big isn't it. Great idea to have a loft hatch to it, so much better than crawling through from the bathroom. Great progress but the tin hat confuses me as I keep thinking that is your roof height and they are adding the roof to the floor 🤣🤣🤣
Haha I know the tin hat is so much higher than our actual roof but that’s so the roofers can stand up straight under the tin hat when they come to putting the roof on!! It will only be up for another few weeks and then it will start coming down which is pretty exciting :) xxx

It's a shame you've missed out on the GoPro footage, you should ask the lads to clamp it to the scaffold below the tin hat. Videos honestly don't do it justice, being local it's such a nice build and a really grand space, going to be a jewel in the street honestly.

The budget might not stretch to it now, but put a proper drop down loft ladder in the storage gable. Ladder access is a pain in the butt!

Wipe over your bathroom taps/shower head with a little olive oil every week. It really helps in a hard water area and it’s not greasy.

I’m just about to start an attic conversion of my bungalow so I’m watching this with interest. I’m having a half hip to gable and two dormer’s.
