Sometimes I get a little annoyed about the situation we are in right now, 2020-04-26, and then it helps a lot to listen to Avrotros Klassiek, this time played 1st of March 2020. No corona yet, no covid-19, the house full of people. So fast it can change! And then I think music always will be there for us, both before and after, and it is a comfort. Great playing from the orchestra under Karina Canellakis! "Tod und Verklärung" , it stands, well I for sure hope we all can listen to this when covid-19 is history. Greetings from Sweden!
Wunderschöne und spannende Aufführung dieses spätromantischen und perfekt komponierten Meisterwerks mit farbenreichen doch perfekt kontrollierten Tönen aller Instrumente. Die geniale Dirigentin leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo und mit möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Wunderbar und atemberaubend zugleich!
Fantastic performance.Wonderfully played,and Karina rocks!!!!!She´s particularly impressive in this rep.She is a wonderful musical storyteller.

Glenn Gould stated in 1962, that Strauss was “the greatest musical figure who has lived in this century”. No doubt, Gould is right.

Could it be that John Williams stole or inspired to write Superman theme from this?? I think so. It's too similar. Many of his themes are stolen/inspired from other composers but nevertheless beautiful. i adore

Sí, una ondulación muy frustrante, como si fuera un OVNI aterrizando en el Concertgebouw. Sin embargo, una interpretación maravillosa, ¡con Karina más impresionante que nunca!
如果沒記錯,照曲名的德文字型來看,這首應該是理查史特勞斯的「死與變容」!？抱歉,事先沒查明典故(以前也不曾 ! 😅),故不知本曲在敘述什麼樣的故事？也許是說有聖人死後上天堂,並散發神聖光潔之光環!？😅 ,不過,剛開始聽起來有春天復甦的味道,而且可能也有一關是在描寫日出景緻!？因此,感覺有些地方可能不夠強烈,但小提琴組演奏出的音型還算蠻清楚的!？最後,順便一提,女指揮家長得很漂亮 ! 😅(忘了提,音樂殿堂具有莊嚴經典感,也很有看頭 ! )
