Godox flashes will not work with canon cameras (RF mount) while using HSS and TTL simultaneously, do you know if this fixes that issue if used with a more modern R3/R8?
Hi Christina! I have the Canon r6 mark II…I am trying to purchase a Godox Flash. Do I need this adapter? Since it is hard to find, have you tried other “knock off” adapters?
Hi there! There’s high chance that you will need the adaptor, consider the fact that R8 and R50 had very close launch dates, which suggested they had the same new hotshot system.
I got them from Mikes Camera; Adorama, B&H and Amazon also sell it. I got it from Mikes because it was the only vendor that got stock at that time, but it turned out that it didn’t. Waited almost 8 weeks for it arrive. It was the same for other vendors at that time.
Hi Christina! I am very new to the photography world and am having a hard time finding the Godox x1t trigger. Can you either link it or suggest another trigger to purchase with the Godox Ad200? Also what softbox do you recommend when first starting out to take with you on the go for outdoor photoshoots?
Yes of course! Xt1 is discontinuing. So use xt2 (amzn.to/3UVL87l) or xpro (amzn.to/3UY3jJz). Make sure the trigger is specific to your camera brand (canon/ Nikon/ Sony).
@@photosprouts Amazing, thank you! I have the Canon R50! One more thing, what softbox do you recommend to pair with the xt2 when first starting out to take with you on the go for outdoor photoshoots?
Hi Christina.. I bought this AD-E1 adaptor for my Canon R50, but still my Godox V860 II not getting detected as an external flash on the camera.. What to do now?? Please help.
Thanks for asking! Apart from the settings I showed you in the video, you can also try a few more things: 1) Flash control: ON (this setting is in the camera menu) 2) fully charge the batteries in the flash and trigger, and make sure the trigger and the adaptor are fully slipped into the hotshoe. 3) V860 II is not easy to use! Make sure you are a) on the slave mode (orange screen) when you fire it off camera, or the on-camera mode (neutral color or green screen in some models) when you fire it on the camera. b) the mode of transmission is Wireless (the sign that looks like a radio transmitter) rather than Optical (thunder storm sign) I think #1 and #3 are the main reasons. Hope this helps!
You can Google it and a bunch of vendors will pop up. Since the adaptor is always on back order, I cannot recommend a specific vendor, you have to order from those who have stocks.
Hey I just tried, it worked! I used a Godox TT600 for the experiment and tried both S1 and S2 while turning on my r50’s built-in flash. TT600 got triggered off camera by the flash light , wonderful! Thanks for the idea❤️🙏
I think if the trigger and the hotshoe on the camera are physically compatible, then it can fire. However, it won’t support HSS. That’s just my thoughts.
Hi i havent bought the adapter for my godox v1 yet but i am concered i wont be able to set it to flash with my continuous shooting mode. I also am unable to find a setting where the built in flash will work with continuous shooting. Im not sure if thats a non built in feature. Would you be able to tell me more info about these topics?
Thank you and I will test it and let you know! I think only powerful strobes like the ad600 can fire continuously with the camera’s continuous shooting (if it is allowed). Will continuous shooting even be allowed on r50 when the adapter is on? I am curious and will find out!
You don’t need the AD E1 on canon DSLR models, they are for newer canon mirrorless camera models. Simply use the Godox products directly with Canon 250D. For example, put a Godox wireless trigger on the Canon 250D hotshot and then you can fire a Godox flash off camera. To make sense of Canon Mirrorless vs DSLR cameras, check out my other videos.
Many photographers are not happy because Canon world's first expensive flash, the EL-1, will not directly fit & work. Imagine you dropped $1,200.00 for a flash & it fit on the camera. But it will not fire.
Thank you. Turning off the silent shutter makes it connect to the camera. Cheers!
Glad it helped
Flash - Thanks Christina, just what I need to know. Appreciate.
Glad it was helpful!
That was helpfull
You you deserve way more views and likes 👍
Thank you! Hope TH-cam thinks the same😂
Have you tested with a speedlight on top of the camera? I need to know if it works. Thanks! Great video!
Yes, it still needs the adaptor for an on-camera flash to fire.

Hi there! R6 II doesn’t need the adaptor~ It is compatible with Godox trigger and flashed directly~
Hi Christina! I'll be using Godox V1C and Godox Xpro-C, are they compatible without adaptor using CanonR8? Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for the Info! 😊
You are welcome 🤗
Hi. I have the hotshoe.. but I have the godox tt600 and my flash is not flashing.. what should I do?
Watch the video and follow the instructions.
Lastly if it still doesn’t work, go to Flash Control (Camera tab #3) -> flash firing on.
Hi, I just bought a R50 and realised about the hotshoe thing. I have a X2T TTL Flash trigger, will this adapter works for it?
Yes it will.
@@photosprouts thanks so much

Flash - Thanks so much
You could use a Godox flash, for example the v850, but could it be used in S1 or S2 mode to detect the flash of the camera's built-in flash?
That’s a cool idea! Let me try and see how it goes!

I see that you have a godox ad200 that can be connected in the same way?
Hi. What other Godox C flashes can you recommend for canon r50 thank you
Depends on the type and time of photoshoot, let me know more so I that I can recommend a suitable one for you.
I need it for a clothing(Dresses) with models photoshoot. Thank you! 🙏
was very helpful
Glad to hear that
Do you have flash recommendations for canon r7?
is it possible to use a trigger made for fuji (x2t-f) on this adapter mounted on an R8 ?
I think if the trigger and the hotshoe on the camera are physically compatible, then it can fire. However, it won’t support HSS. That’s just my thoughts.
@@photosprouts thank you. I guess I will have to try ☺️

Can you use any kind of flash or it has to be this specific one?
Will this trigger works with godox 150 fv ?
I have the xpro II c and the camera don’t trigger the flash I think I need the hot adapter?
What’s your camera model?
R-50
Then yes, that’s the whole point of this video.
Multi function hotshoe that retains the five contacts for in Canon R10
do I need the adaptor too?
I have Godox X pro
I believe the flash should work with the R10 without the use of the adapter.
Thankyou, appreciate it
You're welcome!
Can you use a sync cable so it's not wireless?
I just don't trust wireless stuff 😂
Not to worry! Wireless in Godox works pretty well 👍
Is AD E1 adaptor support in canon R10?
It should, according Canon. Let me borrow a R10 from a friend and then try it out.
Trying to get this adapter but seems it's out of stock everywhere 😢
It is! I have waited for 6-8 weeks to get mine. Some of my friends got it (stock) on eBay but at a higher price.
Someone has the amazon links?
ad-e1 is hard to find, and if you found one on ebay or anywhere, its pricey since it has limited supply. Canon's upgrade is really not friendly.
Totally, I waited for 8 weeks for it to arrive 🥶
That's why IMO the Canon M50 is still better for photography in this aspect as it retains the connections required for flash photography.
Does it will work on Canon 250D?

@@photosprouts cheaper directions use ATG's, Godox or Yongnuo Xmitter.
So if you have Canon OEM flashes, then ATG & Yougnuo transmitter work
