Hi! So, I'm a expatriate (from the US) living in South Korea as an English teacher, and boy let me tell ya, my life is literally full of stress! I've learned how to live with my body being very tight and rigid. I'm also not the smallest person in the world, either. However! I know that this video wasn't really about how to do the stretches or whatnot, but it was really nice to hear what you said at the end. Thank you for not sugar coating it! Thank you for not being all high and mighty about stretching being the end all be all that I've seen other people on TH-cam be. You've really inspired me to just stretch. Thank you~
"sedimentary lifestyle" ah yes, the point where you give up and sit in one place forever until everything piles up around you and the weight of all of this on top of you makes you literally become a rock
That “dominant leg” thing is so true. I was in dance in HS and right before a comp I was told I had to do left splits instead of right (I had never been able to get down all the way on my left). Ended up pulling my hamstring in the middle of the routing (managed to get to the end) and I was out for a few weeks. To this day no matter what my left leg is the worst and I takes a lot of effort to stretch it out without pain.
I played goalie a lot in hockey up until high school and I could do the splits then. Now even some of those stretches scare me. I will challenge myself to stretch more because of what you said about stress. No I will not even dream about doing the splits it has been 48 years so that ship has sailed. I loved this video and the other dimensions so I will watch it again. Your videos are always worth waiting for. I hope your exams are going well.
@@missbeaussie Better than expected. I had Covid for 28 days last March and I have had "long hauler" issues that continue to this day that includes arthritis issues. Thus my ability to stretch is limited and improving very slowly. The stretching has helped with many of the arthritis issues and with my stress so I continue to stretch daily.
It took me about 2 years, and another year beyond that to have them really consistently, like I knew I could just do them with no problem. Everyone goes at a different pace 😁
Not trying to brag but got my splits And my oversplits in three weeks 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃if u need a stretching routine I did then go over to Anna Mcnulty’s channel 😉😉
I remember the first time I did the splits... I was trying to show my mum how low I could go and I just remember slamming on the floor and being so excited 🙃🙃
Surprisingly I can actually do the splits and have never been a gymnast/dancer! I love your videos and your personality is so fun! I hope you do well on your exams!
after watching so many videos of Ellbat trying healthy things and then saying how good they turned out, I'm kinda getting encouraged to really try them (and actually I already started with drinking more water)
I had only ever done the splits on one side all my life and it caused one hip to be higher than the other for years! I would suggest that anyone doing these always do both sides equally.
Hi there! I am 19, I was never able to do my splits. I was way more flexible as a child, an this summer I decided to follow stretching routines (which I've never done before tbh). I followed Anna McNulty's videos (she has a lot). It went like magic, I really enjoyed, and my flexibility improved a lot! And then, when school started I just fell back into my lazy lifestyle. :D Yeah, that's me. So as I was watching this video I got really excited to start stretching again! I really wanna make needles or a cool bridge from stand. Thank you so much, I can't wait to see you try more motivating challenges! :)
I am Legitimately just going back and re watching videos because honestly you are just someone who brings up the mood, wish there were more of you! Thank you for all the hardwork you do. I appreciate you
I'm a runner amd have been for 8 years. Stretching has helped me go from being able to bend down and touch halfway up my shins to almost my ankles. Still pretty inflexible, but it does help with injury prevention.
i’ve already wanted to stretch everyday but felt like it was a chore. you have shown me it isn’t impossible to get to my goal (the splits and abs) so i will start that journey. thank you
Wow you made some great progress, very proud of you! But I think it's important to be careful with stretches, it can be dangerous to do them out of the blue and it is important to do a warming up first. This way you prevent injuries and it makes the stretching easier, so you can go further. Another point, I can't see properly but it's a good split when your hips are straight. You can check if your hips are straight by lifting up your foot in the back, if it points to the ceiling you're straight if it goes sideways you should adjust. In order to accomplish a straight split you might have to go up a bit and twist your hips, but better a little more work for the right results. Good luck! ❤️✨
I really like this video. It’s coming from someone who it’s really naturally flexible or already knows how to do the splits (at least in a while). Makes it more motivating that stretching works over time.
I love your honesty and I can relate to you so much. I’ve recently just started to get moving and doing yoga daily and I feel so much better because of it. I sometimes wonder why I was so sedentary for so long, if anything it was just due to pure laziness. I think as adults we find less reasons to set goals for ourselves and we also have less self discipline as we get older. I really admire your commitment! I come from a ballet background and I’d love to get some of the flexibility I had back. My goal is to get the splits (or close to!) in a month! It’s been 10 days of yoga and 3 days of splits stretching and I already feel more flexible.
OMG!!! I did this excercise once and held all the stretches 1min or longer then I got my splits!!! I was practicing for months. And I am sooo pround, happy and thankful!
my mom was a dancer, so I've been able to do the splits since birth :v, and done ballet almost my entire life which means my bones were formed (-~-) to do over splits
@Ellbat Well done, my friend! 👏👏👏🌹(I missed your notification yesterday!!) I took ballet starting @3 until I was 19-I was ALWAYS 'flexible' anyway; then had a life-threatening accident (fall) when I was 19🙁; I defeated 'odds' (not paralyzed, for example💪)but NOW I'm in my fifties and the arthritis (+FM, etc.) are winning over flexibility! 🥺 However, you've INSPIRED me & give me some hope, as I've been sitting on my growing a** far too long , and don't want to be consumed by my grief anymore and WANT ALL NEGATIVITY GONE- sooooo THANK YOU❣️💐 I LOVE you & your channels! 👏👏👏🌹Keep doing you and best of luck on all your exams-I'm sure you'll do GREAT! ⭐🍀🤞🌠 Hugs fr. London🇨🇦 PLEASE Stay 'safe', everyone❣️ Blessed be🌜
Elena, I really hope no one clips the audio from this video of when you're trying to do your splits, you know with all the moaning and groaning, as you try and get the old stiffened muscles (that I have with you) to stretch out once more. As always, your videos make my days!
As a fellow woman who used to be able to do both splits at a whim, no pre stretching.... I feel this pain and fall from glory! Especially the wanting to have them back immediately lol
The slits had been my party trick until I started personal training and that all went out the window. I'm 40 next June and want to be able to do the splits again by my birthday. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
I just did this stretch routine and I’m only about 2 inches from the floor! I’ve never had the splits before and I haven’t been exorcising regularly for the last few months so that’s amazing!
The fact that im watching this in a sweater so similar to the one you had on the first day and yesterday I told myself to start flexibility training, has to be a sign
I used to be a circus artist from the age 9 to 14 and I could do splits not only from the ground but also from a chair. And of course all kinds of other things. So I understand you very well haha, splits were also my party trick, it still kind of is, I'm just not really good at it anymore and I want to get better again to be able to do it EASILY. I am going to attempt on getting my flexibility back haha, wish me luck. Also, you actually did a great job!! Was so nice to see the progress
I used to dance, but I was never able to do the splits. I was very close though. I'm halfway through my crunches experiment but after that I',mma stretch.
I used to dance and two years after I stopped, I got my splits?? Never had them the first 10 years I danced! Im back now but its so weird i got them once I stopped! I wish you the best in stretching
@@natcappetta569 Thank you! I'm trying to exercise but it feels very weird, cause I had a knee injury and I'm still recovering. So doing things I know I can feels just weirs and scary lol

Thank you~
Can we just talk about her acting skills? Queen. She's literally acting confused looking at a wall 😂
Never been so early, love you elbow!

"sedimentary lifestyle" ah yes, the point where you give up and sit in one place forever until everything piles up around you and the weight of all of this on top of you makes you literally become a rock
As a former medallist in the youth Olympics - many MANY years ago, I keen to give this a go once my broken leg is back to being stable!
Just found this channel a couple of days ago and can not stop watching all of the videos! Seriously one of my favorite you tubers now ❤️
That “dominant leg” thing is so true.
Why are you so funny though?! Everything that comes out of your mouth has me rolling!!!😂😂😂 THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS!😁
Hey Paul. How's the stretching going?
@@missbeaussie Better than expected. I had Covid for 28 days last March and I have had "long hauler" issues that continue to this day that includes arthritis issues. Thus my ability to stretch is limited and improving very slowly. The stretching has helped with many of the arthritis issues and with my stress so I continue to stretch daily.

Jokes on you I’m sat on my bedroom floor
Like i will actually stand up from my bed....😂😂😂😂😂
Jokes on you I'm not on my bed. I'm on the couch
Yeah I didn’t move an inch
Am I the only one who moved??
When your a dancer and have stretched every day for the last 2 years and only just have it splits... 😭
I did classical ballet for a year and half and was finally able to do the splits at the end before I quit 😭 I miss being that flexible
I’ve done dance for eight years and I still can’t do the splits.and I am not flexible whatsoever, and I still can’t do a cartwheel ✨😃
Those editing skills are just *chefs kiss* top notch

after watching so many videos of Ellbat trying healthy things and then saying how good they turned out, I'm kinda getting encouraged to really try them (and actually I already started with drinking more water)
New drinking game: take a shot every time elllbat says fruity fresh
Ill see you in therapy
This is my first time watching her videos and I love her she's so funny and I love her accent!
I had only ever done the splits on one side all my life and it caused one hip to be higher than the other for years! I would suggest that anyone doing these always do both sides equally.
cool so this would benefit people with long torsos but unfortunately for me i have a really short torso :,)
I set myself a challenge that by the end of lockdown I would be able to do the splits. I did it for a day and couldn't be arsed to continue :)
Ellbat: "Sedimentary"
Me: *imagining Ellbat statue*
Think you meant sedentary
but living like a rock tho 🤔🤔
*slowly turns into solid rock from the neck down sitting at my desk* are you sure about that
I saw in another comment she replied to she said it was based on a rock joke she made but ended up getting cut out 😂
You never fail to cast a smile upon my face 😂 I loved the intro. That's ART. You seriously are my sunshine on some days, I'm not lying.
You should try the curly girl method!! You always give really honest results and your hair is really beautiful!!
I am getting tempted to try everything you have challenged yourself to do in this channel .
I am Legitimately just going back and re watching videos because honestly you are just someone who brings up the mood, wish there were more of you! Thank you for all the hardwork you do. I appreciate you
Ellbat: 8:18 "I'm feeling a little bit-"
Ad interrupts: "ExTRA extrA"
Lmao
I'm a runner amd have been for 8 years. Stretching has helped me go from being able to bend down and touch halfway up my shins to almost my ankles. Still pretty inflexible, but it does help with injury prevention.
It wasn’t that bad of editing...... it was good.
i’ve already wanted to stretch everyday but felt like it was a chore. you have shown me it isn’t impossible to get to my goal (the splits and abs) so i will start that journey. thank you
Wow you made some great progress, very proud of you!
Makes it more motivating that stretching works over time.
that was a perfectly reasonable opening and edit. don't be so hard on yourself
Thanks dude, appreciate the moral support 😭❤️
@@Ellbat I gotchu fam :D
She is hard on herself! It is the truly amazing people who don't realize how amazing they are. Glad she is out there entertaining us!
Haha I can tell I’m already going to enjoy this. I remember trying to learn to do the splits...
I heard a crack and i was done 🤣
Damn I would be terrified
Same, "tried" the spilts.. without warming up.. on tile..with socks on:) i heard a crack, felt a snap, and my hamstring snapped
Literally not how it works but ok
@Ellbat Well done, my friend! 👏👏👏🌹(I missed your notification yesterday!!)
I took ballet starting @3 until I was 19-I was ALWAYS 'flexible' anyway; then had a life-threatening accident (fall) when I was 19🙁; I defeated 'odds' (not paralyzed, for example💪)but NOW I'm in my fifties and the arthritis (+FM, etc.) are winning over flexibility! 🥺 However, you've INSPIRED me & give me some hope, as I've been sitting on my growing a** far too long , and don't want to be consumed by my grief anymore and WANT ALL NEGATIVITY GONE- sooooo THANK YOU❣️💐
I LOVE you & your channels! 👏👏👏🌹Keep doing you and best of luck on all your exams-I'm sure you'll do GREAT! ⭐🍀🤞🌠
Hugs fr. London🇨🇦
PLEASE Stay 'safe', everyone❣️ Blessed be🌜
I’m currently watching this while laying in bed motionless with back pain, I just want to be able to get up.
What happened 🥺
Elena, I really hope no one clips the audio from this video of when you're trying to do your splits, you know with all the moaning and groaning, as you try and get the old stiffened muscles (that I have with you) to stretch out once more. As always, your videos make my days!
As a fellow woman who used to be able to do both splits at a whim, no pre stretching.... I feel this pain and fall from glory! Especially the wanting to have them back immediately lol
i have two fitness goals for 2021: splits and one pull up. This was motivating, thank you!
Omg. I have done gymnastics for 7 years, one quarantine stage and it is like i never did it! I can feel your pain! Good on you!!
(I am 11 btw)
I recently found your channel and imeadently subscribed your so funny and I haven't stopped watching your videos
Me with legs that snap like uncooked pasta: *sighs* and grabs yoga mat
Two of my favorite youtubers 😂😂 you and keltie 💕💕
The slits had been my party trick until I started personal training and that all went out the window. I'm 40 next June and want to be able to do the splits again by my birthday. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
There is nothing that instantly cheers me up as much as your editing!
Just noting the stretches start at 9:47 for when I come back to this 😂
Thanks
You’re the only person who’s sponsorships I always watch because you always make them so funny and cool I love it
I was super super close to getting my splits last school year before quarantine, but then I stopped stretching and I am now a good foot off the floor
Your content over the last few months has been amazing, i even tried some of the things you've done, keep it up!
6:30 that literally happened to me as well. i lost my midle split and the day after i realised, i got recommended a tutorial video 👀😂
I used to be able to do the splits as a preteen, tried to retrain last year but didn't stick to it, now trying again. I don't care what anybody says, this is a skill that I need in my life
Omg I'm early, this has never happened in my whole existence!
