Do you find that the vintage sewing machines are pickiest when it comes to thread? I find that they don’t have as pretty of a stitch with some threads.
I haven't noticed any difference with the thread type. Although Grandma, my Singer 27, is picky about the style of reel I use. She doesn't like criss cross threads unless they are on a Gutermann style spool. I think I need to do another video... comparing stitch quality against different brands of threads and different fiber content. Thanks for the idea! 😉
I just have to save this video under Sewing information class. I bought a book tittle Fabric Savy bu Sandra Betzina. This book help me to choose the right thread and needle for the fabric I will use in my project. I need to carry this book into the fabric store even if I have done my homework because sometimes they have more affordable fabric that requires changes on the materials. Now on the bobbin thread; do we need to have specific thread for bobbins or keep using the all purpose thread?
OO - I've got that book! It's brilliant! I think she has a Fabric Savvy 2 out as well. You can use All Purpose in the bobbin. Sometimes it helps add extra definition to quilts and machine embroidery if you use a lighter thread in the bobbin. It just creates less bulk in the stitches, particularly in intricate designs. But it's optional not essential. All purpose is fine.
Perfect, thank you.
fantastic topic please kindly film some more sewing videos please ok?thank you very much 😊
