If this isn’t in production 6 years later then do it now. I have never seen such fluid action like this before. Great job

It is seen to be very efficient and if the noise from the air injector could be reduced it would be great.

Haha! We can start a new wave, after "light roast" we'll do "Rainbow roast" -- on Facebook I've seen a batch of 'green' beans that had some bright blue beans in them, like rat poison. It could become a trend!

solid build! I have been looking into a fluid bed roaster but want to go the automation route as the generic popcorn popper leaves too many variables open. beautiful design with the funnel and glass cylinder. I will have to start looking at getting CNC prices for a funnel like this... Would you recommend downsizing a bit for roughly 250g-500g batches? or are you happy with the chamber height and width?

    • @viliamselc9074

      Hi daniel,
I use different chamber sizes, always for a certain dose size.

@@viliamselc9074 Those numbers get big fast! 120mm hardware starts getting pricey quick. I was originally thinking about using off the shelf components to avoid the stainless milling, if its anything like drilling stainless I'm guessing its not too fun. Still Dragon has components that are close. www.stilldragon.eu/en/sight-glasses-sight-towers/382-3-inch-sight-tower.html and www.stilldragon.eu/en/reducers/443-3-inch-to-three-quarter-inch-tri-clamp-reducer-conical.html (intake might be a bit tight at 3/4"?) Unfortunately the USA site does not have the variety of components the Euro site does... Finding a column tall enough that fits the milling might also be difficult as their glass sections are only 100mm tall and would have to ship across the pond, finally the silicon gaskets they use might be questionable at coffee roasting temps. eh, nothing can be easy.

This 4" to 2" reducer has potential as well... and has a thermowell built in in possibly not a terrible location. www.stilldragon.eu/en/reducers/75-4-inch-to-2-inch-tri-clamp-reducer-conical-with-thermowell.html

The original winding was removed. Then a new coil was made from a stronger Kanthal wire of 0.7mm diameter.

Good evening, Viliam. May I ask what type of blower or fan you are currently using? I am interested in building a compact chilling tower to reduce water spent chilling wort for beer production, and I think this style might be useful for this task.
