I was wondering if i might ask you a question? this one has been too difficult to understand to me so... , what would be the difference between " a bátyámnak" and "a testvéremnek" ( if i'm not mistaken, which probably i am , both words are conjugated in dative case )...as far as i know both words mean the same. I already tried using many translators but testvéremnek and bátyámnak are always translated into English German and Russian as "brother" and even into Spanish and Greek. I know Hungarian has way more cases than other languages do, Hungarian has seventeen if my memory serves me well. Thank you!! Keep up the good work

(I want to have an unspecified kind of knowledge) (no object leads to indefinite conjugation) Tudni akarom, (hogy) miért imádom ezt a dalt. = I want to know why I love this song. (in these kind of sentences, with ", hogy...", definite conjugation must be used) Tudni akarok egy verset fejből. = I want to know a poem by heart. ("egy" leads to indefinite conjugation) Tudni akarom az összes verset fejből. = I want to know all the poems by heart. ("a" or "az" leads to definite conjugation)
Hungarian is my heritage and I want to pass it on; my grandmother has passed away, this helps to learn and hopefully cope while visiting there (Hungary)....I may want to stay!
