Wouldn't we all. lol The tone that he gets on that 67' SG on the video where he plays C.O.D is borderline godly. & I wont even get started on the epicness that was his 1990 video in NY. lol
all these videos about Eric Johnson's tone are getting the comments section turned off , why is you tube messing with my gear videos so frustrating not to be able to ask questions on a video RIP voodoolab
I used to see Eric in a bar for $1 on Sunday nights, like in 1980 or 1981. That was back when it was real. With Bill Maddox on drums and Kyle Brock on bass. That was the shit. Right up close and front but I'd have to get there at 6:30pm for the 9:30pm show to get a table up front, and nurse that $3 beer like it had to last me 6 hours. Very small sips. And also we'd see Buggs Henderson for $5 on Saturday nights, plus one of those insanely expensive $3 beers.
Try to hold on to your guitars. Fenders, Les Paul, Martins, Mattons, Riviera's. No matter what. If you play it & enjoy it......keep them. Because once you let one go....it's just gone & I doubt that most people would ever let you buy it back.
Funny how artists like Eric Johnson become known for their "tone" or expertise in hardware, and not their music. At least outside of the realm of other musicians. I'm always amused at guitar nerds who will argue endlessly over who is "better" without any real insight into music and what makes it intrinsically "good" or "not so good".
What’s song called at 4:32s it’s incredibly beautiful?
The strat with the binding is beautiful.
I love that fender with a rosewood bound neck!
i agree... i have a black dot.... love it. i cant tell if i prefer my dot or my strat

@SKiLLeDcs Chorus does wonders.
This guy is way too calm and collected for how good he is.
The man could improvise till the end of the world
@disturbtheworlds yes..pianist style
King of Strings!
@yngwieisking A good group of the "best" players also had teachers
dammit eric, now i cant decide between buying the maple or rosewood version ;)
@beefcake0354 Yes, yes they could.
Wonderful guitar tones but I don't think you can get the neat colors anymore. I think it's red, lollipop blue and turd brown. The red's pretty nice.
i'd pay just to watch him doodle on the guitar...his clean clean are eargasmic
