We've added more miles to Mountain View. We now have access to an historic Coal Community called Dante VA. New amenities for riders and outdoor enthusiasts are in the works, but the ATV Trail is now open!! It's another beautiful mountain ride with extraordinary views!!
We went there his past weekend based on this video. It was one of the best times I’ve had in a long time. In fact, we are going back again for Thanksgiving weekend.
That makes me so happy to hear! Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad you guys had a blast! Wish I could join you for a Thanksgiving ride! If you have any awesome photos I would love to see them if you DM them to me on Instagram.
Agreed! I love it when towns are connected by trails...and you can ride through them! It really adds something extra and also gives you an actual destination.
I lived in Coeburn and ride this trail every weekend, there is a trail #80 that has boulders so big they were not able to get dozers around it to finish it. They are massive as in I'm 6 foot 3 inches tall and they make me look tiny.
That's awesome! Hard to beat that kind of riding environment in your backyard! We must have missed that trail (no surprise with how many miles of trails are out there!). We did not see any boulders as big as you describe, that sounds pretty intense. Such a good area to ride with so many different environments. The only thing it seemed to lack was mud. We found some water, but not a ton of mud. Did we just miss it?
do you need a special pass to ride your machines around st. paul? also, is there anything you wish you did or wish you experienced down there that you didn’t on this trip? and is the trail you took a two way trail or one way?
Yes you have to have a permit to ride the towns and trails. You can get 1 day or weekly pass. You can call the trail org or the Western Front Hotel. www.westernfronthotel.com/
Hey Garry, Best method would be through Facebook or Instagram. Shoot me a message through either one, and from there I can shoot you my email address as well. Will that work for you?

The amount of quality riding opportunities in the east is next level. WV, VA, and TN are just killing it.
Agreed! I really wan't to hit TN soon. I have still never been riding there!

@@NavigateOffroad there honestly is only a few mud spots but there is a pond that people try to play in.
I am thinking about planning a trip this summer to Spearhead. Do you think a 2wd Honda Rancher would be ok to go on the main trail from town to town?
