This is a prime example where boys WILL play with female characters. I know in the 80s, many people said boys didn't want female characters and many female characters didn't get made in the 80s (example: Arcee). But Lady Jaye was always one of my favorite character. Hell most of the female characters were good. The only one I didn't care about as a kid was Cover Girl. But the rest were pretty good toys and characters in the show.
i always wonder, the very few characters were most of the time really good in the 80s. if they actually put effort into making characters. would they have been actually that good in the cartoons and comics....
Thundercats & He-Man/She-Ra are two other good examples. If you were a TC kid you HAD to have Cheetara & He-Man boys watched She-Ra almost as much as the She-Ra girls watched He-Man

In the cartoons, she kicked some major portions of Snake-ass. She even commanded a mission or two - and Scarlett at one point, to HER credit, more or less took over as Field Commander (I believe during Pyramid of Darkness, after Flint went MIA with Mutt and Roadblock, and Duke and Snake-Eyes were captured). During the DIC series, even, she was a field or team leader - even though she was no longer with Flint (who'd joined the Eco-Hippies or whatever they're called). Lady Jaye was no fainting flower - she was a goddamn asset to the team, and tough as any of them. ...which may or may not be part of the reason I'm married for 16 years to a girl that used to play football. Real football. In High School.
I was glad to see the 25th anniversary line had a version that looked like the cartoon Lady Jaye. I was kind of surprised that wasn't mentioned here. Her voice was one of my favorites, along with Flint's, and both of those actors seem really active in GI Joe fan activities.
Very cool video! Always loved Lady J, though for some reason I painted her face red back in the day. I'm going to have to review my old figure at some point.
I definitely like (the three female Joes frequently paired, as a triplet) Scarlett, Lady Jaye and Cover Girl (I definitely prefer Cover Girl with shorter, red hair) [it's a bit out of the ordinary that Lady Jaye sometimes appeared at the same time as Scarlett, since Lady Jaye was more so the replacement character for Scarlett].

I think Lady Jaye is the best female figure probably. Great detail, looks like Della Street from Perry Mason, and I believe she's the tallest female figure. Top tier, for sure.
Have you ever reviewed any of the comic book 3 packs? I've been trying to find certain Reviews and literally nothing ever comes up in any Google or TH-cam search
Please elaborate on how that works. Would promotions have been more likely with the degree? I knew someone who got into the Army during college, graduated and went to Officer Candidate School to become a Lieutenant it seems from the start of his career. Did people with degrees tend to get put in OCS or did they still have to choose to do so?

scarlett in the cartoons was linked to duke however in the comics it was snake eyes and they went into detail why
Duke was an asshole towards Scarlett in the comics, made more sense for her to be romantically linked with Snake-Eyes.
If there were to be a well-made G.I. Joe movie, it should star Milla Jovavich as Lady Jaye.

On Scarlett's v2 file card, they gave her two degrees from Ivy League universities. She's an E-5. I don't think that's very likely.

Nothing on ther is acurate to real word doctrine. And should have been red headed scarlet.
For me never liked the figure as it was so far departed from the cartoon character.
