My Dad returned from WWII on the Queen Mary. He was a waist gunner on a B-17 and made it all the way through without being injured. On the journey home, the Queen Mary was hit by a large wave and my Dad, who had been sitting on a table watching a movie, was thrown off the table, the table slid his way, tipped over and landed on his ankle. He spent a while in the hospital at Fort Dix having his ankle put back together, met my Mom who was there as a member of the Gray Ladies and the rest is history. We always joked with my Dad that he got his Purple Heart in just under the wire. Thank you for taking me back to the QM and my memories. Miss you Mom and Dad!

Last I heard, the Mount Vernon was taking the place of the Spirit of Norfolk. For how long, do not know. Had my daughter's sweet 16th on the Spirit of Norfolk back in '03. So much fun!
My grandparents took us there a few tines LOVE QUEEN MARY! We are from Beaumont CA near Palm Springs but moved to Arkansas 6 years go and now we too have a farm but we have a tiny farm 😁

LOL I do the same thing Tiph does. I will strip the bed and pillows down and leave them in a nice pile on the bed and do the same with the towels and washcloths in the bathroom and clean up the room before leaving.

I love Vegas!! I’ve stayed at Paris, Excalibur and Luxor (towers) my fav is Luxor it’s haunted so it’s always so much fun definitely recommend eating at New York New York tho really good restaurants
I love the desert. My family would go out to the desert all the time. My Dad would go hunting in September and we would go with him. My Dad's uncle lived out there, too. I would hike all over and not even realize that there were so many dangerous animals out there.

I went there back in 1977 when it was still open , you could drive around the lake and find a place to park , we sat in the water with our sand chairs because it was so hot they also had a snack bar to buy food , back then they didn't have the Lazy river they just had the stand up slides , Lake Dolores was a man made named after the owners wife

Ay Omar and Tiff! I agree with Tiff, anytime I've stayed at Hotels I always put the linens in a pile in the bathroom and always left some $ for the person cleaning my room!! Just felt like it was the right thing to do!
