Linocut with me!😲(avoid my mistakes block printing, stamp carving)

- Hope you enjoy this linocut block printing video! This was my first time using printing ink and a brayer, and there were some hiccups along the way. But I'm still proud of myself for finishing this project and making my holiday cards! See below for a card giveaway!
LESSONS LEARNED:
- Remember to size your block appropriately to your paper. Leave enough margin space so it’s not such a tight fit like mine
- Make an easy registration guide with a piece of paper. Outline your block in the center, and outline your paper around it. When it’s time to print, all you have to do is line up the block and paper to the guide lines on the paper
- Find the right consistency for your printing ink. I think because my ink was a few years old, it could have benefitted from retarder/extender. I found when the ink dried on the paper, it was very textured and not evenly distributed. Next time I will experiment with a retarder for hopefully a smoother application.
