Color me beyond impressed. You recreated every part of a real katana almost perfectly, even down to being able to disassemble. Well done. Only thing that's slightly off is that you did not alternate which half of the ito is on top, but that's not so important since you're gluing it down.
I tried to make it and it's working.....I really recommend it to you guys for making this. Conditions: • you need to have great skill at cutting cardboard • you need a very big cardboard(at least 1 metre long) and also the right thickness of your cardboard
@@unknownricecake3036 1) I use UHU super glue (you can use any types of super glue) 2) it survived an impact but for more efficiency you can apply super glue ( the small super glue) on the the sword and at the inner holder (in this video it says to put tape.....I recommend you to put super glue along with tape)

I've made over 20 swords out of cardboard the biggest issue is the blade and hilt tearing apart due to difference in weight 😭 Any solutions? Also amazing work
If I move it too fast it snaps I've tried both making them separate and making it one long then shaping it , I've tried using sticks to make it stronger but it gets thicker and if I don't do that it gets too light and can't be swung
@@kireikotomine3264 cardboard isn't quite designed to be swung... Recommend using the frames of umbrellas(i use metal rods holding up orchids)instead of sticks

I have found that they use 4mm cardboard. Most Amazon boxes in the US are 3mm in thickness.

Dry them
Hopefully they will be string enough
How exactly are you combining the blade to the hilt?
His hilt was just a sleeve over a cardboard tang with 2 wooden pins to hold it together.
