I purchased the 4000X and enjoy it, but also had concerns of temps with the front glass panel. Searched all the retailers suggested by Corsair, yet could not find the Airflow front panel anywhere. Emailed Corsair, they asked for invoice, then sent me a Airflow front panel for free.

We're always hearing about airflow but when we see a delta of just 6 degrees(72vs78degrees) I really have to wonder what difference it will make in terms of performance. I don't see this particular difference in temps in this case being worth worrying about.

Got this case and I'm happy with it. I'm running a micro ATX board and got a 280mm AIO top mounted. Corsair says you can fit a 280mm AIO which you can, however it is an extremely tight fit against the ram so be cautious when deciding to get an AIO. I got the kraken X63 btw.
I agree I have the same case put the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240 It fit nice and looks good. Had to get an adapter to connect to the rgb core, but otherwise I'm happy with it.
I read recently the 4000 series have interchangeable front panels with the 4000D Solid panel version and 4000D Airflow Edition being interchangeable with the 4000X front panel on any of the other 4000 series cases. If the 4000D Airflow part is available (currently out of stock for both black and white variants) it can be had for $4.99 off of corsair's website. If you have a pre-built with a 4000x case or non-airflow edition 4000D you might just want to remove the front panel while you wait to replace it with the 4000D Airflow edition front panel (to basically make it a 4000D Airflow in every respect that matters) if you are concerned about thermal performance. It may not look as nice as the glass front (Which I prefer to the solid panel 4000D), but it could be good enough for the moment. Especially if you plan to invest in LL or ML RGB Fans to make the build quieter than the SP series RGB fans included with your 4000X, this small change is a must to not choke the fans.
If there was something hiding the screws of the front fans it would look way cleaner. Maybe a more complex dust filter could hide it. Idk the front of 4000x looks like something someone who works with wood would make. If it was cleaner i think it would look better.
I don't think I'll be moving aware from my Lian Li O11 Air, with a Silverstone high-airflow filter kit. Once you've tried the dual compartment case design and the insane airflow of this case (with the replacement filters) there is no going back.
What model is the airflow filter kit, I was thinking of building in that case since I kinda like it better then the plain glass of the dynamic model. If I decide to bite the bullet and do custom loop I will probably get the EK front distro block for the dynamic.
I'd like to see Corsair do a refinement and improvement of the Crystal 280X to improve airflow and incorporate the side panel design of the larger 680X.
I wish you would have went over AIO installation concerns. You touched on the power supply shroud cutout not being big enough for a radiator, but I would have also liked to understand how feasible it would be to mount an AIO on the top of the case, and how tight that fit would be.
I think you're optimistic on the airflow edition estimate. That panel had a lot of plastic, not enough hole. I wish they just didn't do front glass here and made the front mesh only (sadly if you remove the glass the glass mounts look out of place, whereas on my 280x removing the glass looks totally normal)

Contemplating between the Corsair 4000D Airflow and the BeQuiet Pure Base 500dx. Both white versions. Looking forward to build my Ryzen PC. Brings me back to my AthlonXP 2500 Barton AMD building days again!

Remember when Cooler Master released their H500P with 2 200mm fans behind a clear plastic front? The H stands for High airflow but that case was a complete joke. Corsair seems to have at least learned by releasing an airflow version of this case at the same time. But this version of the case is not airflow oriented.

I am REALLLY torn between this and the P500A. Both cases are great in their own way....this one for size and looks, P500A for feature and function. This would be a BIG winner for me if the front panel IO had 2 USB and a bit more room for top mount 280mm rad. The P500A has the USB I like and lots of room for a good looking case (the PSU shroud LED is great), but I can't decide between white or black due to the way the RGB looks through the shroud.
Yes but....Airflow case has a big defect = the air inlet of the fans (front) is blocked by the periphery of the frame. The chassis should have been a little wider or less blocked.

questions , why ITX cases that have the motherboard sitting horizontally aren't so popular, that case would have fans on top of the GPU and CPU to exhaust air out. there will be better airflow.
Front panel looks ez to remove. Surprised no case has used a bar lock to fix panels in place. You can draw your logo on the bar, insert it backwards for a clean look, or make shapes sticking out on top or below the bar such as the corsair logo ship silhouette. It's cheap, easily moddable or replaceable, hard to break, hard to lose compared to thumbscrews.

Without the dust filters, my pc would soon cancel out the difference in temp anyway so much of a muchness really. The RGB case should come with both vented and solid fronts though.
I guess the average shopper building a computer or more likely having one built is clueless about thermals! They have to be because someone is buying these glass front cases. That's why they keep making them. Why not give you the RGB in the mesh version. The companies are clueless too!!!
I'm deciding between this case or the lian li lancool 2 mesh only because I have 3 cats. Lancool 2 mesh has good tempts but I'll need to constantly clean or I get this and not worry about dust accumulation as much

That "airflow" model looks so much like my Silverstone RL06 that Corsair's lawyers should be a little bit scared of being sued. It's practically the RL06's identical twin!
Not really the feet on the ss look ugly n diff the Corsair looks way better to me. I hate cases that look like "gamer" cases...keeping it simple & elegant like this corsair & the older 450D which I currently own is the best way to go.

(and I have a big But, however I digress) as much as this case looks so nice, I'll be Sticking with my Cooler Master H500P Mesh ARGB case. Plenty of air flow.
Case manufacturers should change things, with this new trend of glass, the Side panels should be considered the "Front Panel". This way users would position the Case different and the front RGB should be enginered to light up the inside of the case and the side panel; with this people will have front mesh panel, but they would not be the center piece since the Case would be positioned in a way that the side panel is the showcase. In my opinion, is the best way to have glass and a good air-flow without sacrifices; it would only demand a few adaptations on the Case front I/O and a little more space on the user desk.
I wanna buy a new case and I want my whole PC to be one/two brands so maybe I'll go with this case so I can have all my fans match and I'll use asus parts for the rest

You use liquid or air cooling in yours? I have no interest in liquid cooling, but the design is clean and attractive. It's on my short list.

From the KitGuru review, you need to use low-profile RAM (which Corsair conveniently makes).

I love the way the 4000D airflow version looks but shifting the SSDs over to get a 3rd spot in there would have been even better.

As simple and easy the NZXT 510i is... The airflow is quite shit and the front is quite boring.

In Mexico because of inflation the RGB case is cheaper than the 3 RGB fans lol
