Next time, if you don’t want to be stalked by coyotes, bring Zac. I don’t think they (or anything else) would mess with him 😂😂. The coyotes were probably looking for food/snacks that hikers drop along the way or, worse yet, that hikers actually feed them. Oh, it’s December now, scruffy month 🧔♂️!!
Haha yes - we probably would’ve passed right by them chatting away had he been with me Yes, stache was trimmed off while Zac was away - new month, time to bring the facial hair back to my usual
I don't think I could live somewhere that didn't have a plethora of amazing hikes, and I'm so glad you get to live somewhere like that too! Thanks for sharing your dive into nature with us! Big love from ANZ ❤
Jess...as always, thank you for taking us along on this hike. The scenery is amazing! A bit nerve-wracking when you were sharing the trail with the coyotes. Typically, they don't bother humans but if they have young nearby...just be especially careful. You look amazing...AS ALWAYS ❤ Obviously, you love to hike with Zac...but, who wouldn't? You mentioned meeting the male/female hikers...do you sometumes hike trails like this au natural? Sending hugs/love from your friend in 🇨🇦.
I would’ve been worried and looking for defensive weapons if it was a mountain lion! Just had a 21 year old killed by one on a trail earlier this year in California. His brother had to fight it off and go get help. Those things are legit dangerous😮
At least you had your selfie-stick to defend yourself from the Coyotes! I'm thankful they didn't gang up on you. I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was nice. Take Care-Z
Remember y'all, it's the predators you don't see that are actually stalking you. In the Appalachian Mountains where I'm from, black bears have started stalking humans too 💀 we have to carry bear spray now
In Portugal we have lots of beautiful trails because the interior is very unhabitat. In the village of my grandparents we use to see wolfs and wild pigs, usually they are afraid of us, but in the night when i saw the wolf eyes spirkling in the night give me afraid. And we use to see snakes and big toes and frogs, and fish in the river.
Being Australian, I was unsure if coyotes attack humans and I googled it and got this "Coyote attacks on humans are uncommon events but have been increasing in frequency, especially in California" , great hike though, we got to 92 here today so Summer is finally here
I grew up in Arizona / Phoenix suburbs where they are very common as well - you can’t leave small pets out or they will get eaten 🙈😳 I haven’t personally heard of coyote attacks on humans - usually more worried about Mountain Lions / Cougars because they will attack and can kill humans. Coyotes usually stay away - was shocked they were so brazen on this trail!
An other great video . I would be so nervous having those coyotes following me . Jealous of your weather , where I live in Canada it's minus 3 right now . I hate the cold but love my country . Hope to see you ad Zc do this one , it looks gorgeous , Happy Thanks giving .
Yes, even though they rarely attack hikers I was nervous since I hadn’t seen anyone in awhile at that point! I was ready to use my camera stick as a weapon if I needed to! I can’t imagine that cold! I’ve fully adapted to the warm weather since moving here from Utah several years ago! Hope you’re staying warm in Canada - happy Thanksgiving!
Another great adventure! The shot of you standing on the peak with the sun behind you and your arms outstretched was inspiring...Your hair is so cute! Do you naturally have curls? I can't think of anything more grounding and getting in touch with the earth than hiking nude! I bet Zach is just as excited to see you two after his absence, what a warm feeling being in love.
Jess, nice hike. Beautiful countryside. You should carry bear spray or pepper spray when hiking to be safe especially when you are by yourself. They can be used to deter wolves, coyotes, mountain lions and other mammals. You can also carry something with you that makes noise. I know you like to hike by yourself at times but having someone with you such as Zac is a good idea. Safety in numbers.
Yes! I have said the same to the boys, I need bear spray for when I am out hiking. Coyotes shouldn’t be a problem but a cougar would be very dangerous… that’s what I am usually most concerned about. I always prefer to have Zac with me, alone I usually stay near the city - this hike had homes built right up the hill close to it and had cell service the entire time. Any hike farther out with spotty service and I wouldn’t do it alone.
Please take bear spray when you hike alone. Even when you and Zac go hiking you should carry it since the two of you hike trails where there are mountain lions. Safety first!
Awesome scenery but, in 24 degrees Celsius heat you wouldn't be hiking with no shirt or here in New Zealand, the sun is more intense here and you would be burnt to a crisp within a short time! Not that we mind seeing you with your shirt off though! 😂
First off, happy to say bye bye to the 🌽⭐️ 'stache😅! This light scruffy look keeps you looking young and firmly in the early 30's! 😆 And wowzers! Coyotes! I would have run screaming like a banshee..that would have scared them off for sure😂! I hope that couple didnt get a shock😂 when they came across you hiking in the buff. ( Pretty cheeky of you to hold up your shorts while filming🤭🤭) Was it my perception or was the hike while going up was a slow incline but the way down was much steeper?? Now that Zac is back, hope you both can hike soon and YT it! I miss Zac's one liners😅 and Alex's jokes on the videos!
Haha! Yep, it was gone before Zac even got home from the Thanksgiving holiday 😂 I was ready for the scruff look again! Haha I think the coyotes had me so distracted that i got caught with shorts in hand! I rarely ever do as most of the time I hear or see people coming way before they see me. The couple just laughed as they passed me by and the woman said “good morning”. I think most people would chuckle and be good humored about it Yes, after I turned off the main truck trail the path was narrow and seemed to be used more by bikers. I’m guessing most hikers stay on the wide truck path. I saw a single biker on the offshoot loop! Would be fun to go back with Zac and explore the longer version of this one!
Hello Jess! Another beautiful hike. I think if I recall, this is the first time I have seen coyotes in contrast with any previous hikes. I could see in your eyes that you were a worry so I'm glad that didn't turn out into a bad situation since coyotes can be unpredictable. One thing for sure, I'm glad they weren't any rather snakes though. I hate snakes!😅The view from the rock was splendid and yes, I'm afraid of heights but I would have sat there even with that fear. Also, I noticed this trail was in some part kind of rough so I wonder if it was mainly for mountain bikes rather than regular walking. Can you let me know? It was a great exercise trial tough for sure. Ok! I enjoyed it and thank you for sharing it. Looking forward to seeing what trail you will show us next. Loves!💖 Btw I hope you didn't forget your sunscreen. You were getting kind of reddish there and you need some mountain hike boots too. Just saying!🥰
I need to ask, Jess, and this sounds kind of intruding but do you go naked with Zac when he comes along? Did he go too? Just curious since you mentioned that you almost got caught naked on this hike and I know you said that you have gone naked recently in past hikes like you used too when you were in the industry. 🤔
Yes - you are right Rey… that’s why it was such a shock! I have hiked quite a bit in Utah, Arizona, and California and this was the first time to ever encounter coyotes like this. I’m usually much more cautious or worried about running into a mountain lion. Coyotes are usually harmless, whereas mountain lions have killed people (happened recently in California). I’ve run into rattlesnakes before too - have to be cautious on empty trails like this one because they like to lay in the sun on the empty path.
@@ReyCC1387 the loop part of the trail off the main truck road seems to be used more by bikers than hikers, I only saw 1 biker on that part of the trail. if the trail is empty like this one was I usually keep my shorts off and fully enjoy it! Bears would make me nervous! I told the boys I need to carry bear spray! - not so much worried about coyotes… more concerned with running into a mountain lion… or a bad intentioned hiker.
Haha will you buy them for me? 😂 I have a pair but I keep forgetting to get them from my brothers house where I left them. The nobull shoes work ok but are not ideal
You are so very handsome😊😊❤❤what a great hike!
Such awesome views❤❤❤❤😊
Trail looks great man, views are spectacular!
OHH THANKS YOU GUYS MERRY CHRISTMAS AND I LOVE YOU GUYS LOVE DAVID😀🥰😀🥰🥰😃

Those coyotes stumbled upon a tasty snack ha! Another great hiking vod Jess ❤
I’m glad they thought better of it 😅
@@JessAlexZacme too!
Another amazing hike Zac will love it, it has some of hs people (dead tree) think that coyote scared Willie did'nt see hin again 😜💙

Absolutely gorgeous view!!!...the scenery isn't bad either. You should make a coffee table book of some of your hikes 😍😈
That would be fun! Could add it to the collection of coffee table books I am in
The camera man never dies. 😂 Now if they were mountain lions that would be different.
I would’ve been worried and looking for defensive weapons if it was a mountain lion!

If you're ever in Ohio, you & Zac can naked hike here anytime! ❤
Are there good trails there?! 🤗
@JessAlexZac No mountains to climb, but amazing wooded trails and gorges!
Nice one!

You are such a (cute) tease. All those little glimpses from 5:35-5:55, the shorts in your hands....
Maybe it’s in case the coyotes give chase and he 🙊in his pants.
I love your hiking videos. Do miss Zack though.
I do too 🥹 I sure hope he can join me on the next one!
You might want to invest in a kilt or utility kilt. That way you can maybe take it off and on easier than shorts.

Caught with your pants down? Tell me it was just a bathroom break.....or not. lol (coyotes howl in this background) ;)

I had paused the video when I wrote the first comment not knowing you were going to mention getting caught naked.
Wonder if other hikers have fed the coyotes making them less worried about people. We have them in Indiana but they seem to be more nocturnal.
Yes! I wondered this too. The area is also surrounded by homes so they are right on the edge of the urban sprawl.
So u switch from left to right I see 😏😏😏
You do have protection with you in case you have trouble with wildlife. I have to watch out for bears in Tennessee

Why don’t you invest in real hiking shoes those white gogo boots aren’t gonna cut it
