Also, if I can ask you, what are your thoughts on this guitar after use over the last 9 months? was the build quality good? did any issue pop up over time?
back in 2005/2008...You wouldn't catch me playing a friggin squier, EWWW....today??? You won't see me playing anything but Squiers, HB. They're soooo great.
The quality of cheap guitars these days is absolutely wonderful. I bought a Strat copy a very long time ago and, quite honestly, I'd have been better off with a floorboard and a couple of rubber bands! Thanks EJK.
Any cheap Japan or Korea squier from the early 80's to mid 90's are great. Or any guitar from the korean Samick, Cort and WMI factorties in the last 30 years will be good and there many out there.
I'm a huge fan of Harley Benton guitars and to hear Elmo say that he's even thinking of selling a Fender Player series Tele and keep the Harley speaks volumes. Great video. If I liked telecaster guitars more I'd pick one up, especially at that price. My wife would kick me out for buying another guitar though since I just bought an Ibanez Elmo liked
I bought a Harley Benton BM-75 a couple of weeks ago, and I'm absolutely loving it. The nut needed a little work (literally five minutes with a cheap 6€ guitar file set), but that was it. Absolutely wonderful guitar. I'm tempted to buy the HB Tele DIY kit, that would be a really nice exercise. :)
I Just want to say thank you, again. I bought this guitar thanks to your review and it's amazing... Just like my Harley Benton Tube 15 amp, wich I purchased thanks to one of your reviews too. Greetings from Chile 🤟
Thanks for the great video :-) I have this guitar but the Shell Pink version. How would you compare it with the Sire Larry Carlton T3? Is the T3 an upgrade to this one or not really? Sounds seem to be quite similar (although this HB seems a bit darker maybe?) but what about the playability and general feeling? Thanks!
Elmo brother, you shredding like that and being tired and not with it today? You’re a blast to watch man. I was seriously considering a much more expensive T style. I had an American made tele many moons ago and I just didn’t like it at the time. It was obscenely heavy, I wish I had it yes but I’m not gonna drop two grand I’m getting another American made one. For as much as I need the telly for the sounds of going for this would fit the bill. Great job as usual brother, appreciate the chops..
Interesting, my guitar teacher recently turned me onto the Harley Benton guitar line. I too, like a lighter guitar, will have to check that out as well. Another great video, Thk u!
i am definitely looking to purchase one in the future , the first thing I would change as with all budget guitars is the pots and switch, the pick-ups are fine for now, but I would look at Tonerider Tele Pickups as a replacement , great review Elmo

I have one coming in black. This video very much helped decide the purchase as I was also looking at a Squier Affinity Tele. I'm not a new player just low on budget. I hope it travels to the UK well!
Very nice guitar, and great playing Maestro Elmo. Subtle unlike the snap from maple fretboards especially when playing the bridge p'up. I'm waiting for Lake Placid blue. As a curiosity the protoype of these double-bound Teles was Dakota red , which had a bit of a copper tinge , and would have been my first choice. Blue is safer. Cheers!
I have 2 Harley Benton guitars and am blown away by what I got for not a lot of money - Grover/Wilkinson/WSC hardware, excellent build quality (DC60 Junior and SC Custom ll)
Thanks Elmo for the review. I have a fat strat player, I replaced its frets with steel ones and I was wondering what guitar to try. I tried something from Gibson but quickly realized that it wasn't my thing. I'll buy that tele for fun, but black. I miss it. I admire your playing, you're a really good musician.
Awesome playing as always. I got one of these about a month ago and haven't put it down. I got the black version and happened to get an exceptional one. The only thing that I felt I needed to replace was the electronics/pots and knobs and switch. I agree - it's as good or better than my fender which was 5 times the cost.
Sir, the biggest problem with these guitars are the tuners. They are cheap. The holes where the ends of the strings go in at the slots are very shallow. I took all mine off and drilled them so they are deeper. Now the strings can stay in place much better while I wind the strings during a string change
Great review Elmo, I was looking forward to this, it proves you don't need a lot of money to have a decent Tele. This and maybe a few mods, and you could easily gig with this... You seemed to enjoy it!

@Jesús St James That is a nice model with some decent hardware but the finishing has issues with many of those also . Basically be prepared to get your hands dirty setting up a more budget model and you will get the best bang for your buck

Even if you don't agree with Cleese's politics you have to admit Monty Python is pretty damn funny, and surprisingly good as well despite their limited budget for movies. Life of Brian and The Holy Grail are two of my favorite movies.
I think you were following the advise you gave in the last video. There was some new stuff. I even detected some stuff that reminded me of Earl Klugh mixed with some Rock' n' Roll chords I hadn't heard in a while. This demo reminded me that there are worlds to be explored on the guitar. Good guitar and good playing. The color was not unlike that of an old barn that needed another coat of paint or or maybe ground hematite, the red ochre thing. It didn't look Candy Apple red. Good demo of another guitar I don't need. Thanks.😊
No way is that shade of red Candy Apple! i have a number of guitars in that finish, and it is much darker and is also a metallic finish. It looks like a bad mix of Fiesta Red. A good guitar for the price, if you like Telecasters, for me it has to be S shaped.
Great work of you, Elmo, great and usefull work of nearly all the "checkers"! BUT: what´s about the weight? A VERY important detail, mpo! Cheers from Austria, Guenther!
Hi there! Love this review! Good to see the colour is a bit off, will buy another colour :p. One question I have is about the frets. Are the frets level enough? Hope to hear from you!
@@MrPolevaulter well one year later and I finally got one. In shell pink! Its awesome, the neck feels very nice! Will upgrade the pickups for something nicer, the bridge is too shrill for my taste. Also: brass saddles. What a time to be alive. 149 euro's!
For a cheapo like that, it sounds pretty good... I probably would change the tuners to Gotoh, the bridge to Wilkinson's brass plated string holders. The pickups sounds very nice considering they're stock. That guitar is a bargain ‼️👍🎸
I bought one to have as a cheap guitar to have hanging around the office (to use with a fender mustang Micro and headphones). Also had to lower the action a bit, but other than that it had basically No flaws and I love it. Quite amazing for what is essentially a dirt cheap guitar
Great review as allways Elmo and superb playing as well. Interesting that you like the pickups which are roswell, as you were not a great fan of them in previous reviews. I guess maybe they are better suited pickups for tele style guitars than ST type guitars, it’s amazing the quality of budget guitars now remember my first guitar I bought it was around the same price in the mid 1980’s and it was atrocious 😂
I’m curious as to why this one gets raves, but the TE-52 was not well liked by you. The hardware and pickups are exactly the same, and the TE-52 has better wood. Can you give some insight? I’ve been thinking of getting one of these and the Ash looks better for me. Is it just the weight issue?
A lot of it is the weight thing. The bigger thing was that I just didn't feel the TE-52, while this one I did. That's really abstract though, so maybe it's not very helpful.
@@MrPolevaulter I see that the te62 is made of poplar, which I’ve never had a good guitar made from before. I had a Tele copy years ago that was poplar, and it dented and chipped really easily. I just figured that ash is a much better wood that is used in vintage Fender guitars.
Another great video, thanks Elmo. Have you tried the Kramer baretta special yet. I got one about a month ago and it's awesome. $179.00 what a fabulous deal
I bought one of these and it arrived today. After seeing so many good reviews I was really disappointed. There were screws screwed in at an angle, loose screws and the tuners were jumping. It didn't even stay in tune for a minute. The worst thing was the fret buzz tho. It was so bad that I instantly decided to send the guitar back. I got really unlucky.
I have fender stratocaster 1977 which i upgraded with set of dimarzio pickups and when i buy this hb tele i was confused. It looks like they are in same clas
Hello Elmo. What did you think about the neck on this one? seeing as HB calls it a ''modern d'' im a bit afraid of if being too chunky for me. How would you compare it to an ibanez wiz or a fender c. Great videos btw
Hi mate, love the reviews, I'm looking to get myself a telecaster, but I can't decide between this or a squier bullet telecaster, which would you say is the better of the two?
Hey Elmo. Can you tell me the difference between the TE-52 NT (Butterscotch blonde) and this guitar? (The red TE-62). I'm interested in both guitars, but I can't make a choice. Which one should you recommend?? Greetz from the Netherlands
i think the most relevant is the weight, the te62 being lighter. You can check the harley benton forum as well. I am sure that question was asked already.
Elmo, for the same range under 300 (euro). Which one is your favourite for those u had tested b4? Meaning, the feels of the neck, playability and overall finishes like coating. ( not including tuning peg and electronics bcos i can swap them out easily).
E.. yeah it looks Pink in certain light, do like the way manufacturers put that antique stain on the neck, binding always looks good on someone else's guitar, ha.. maple necks only for me, don't collect guitars anymore, been exploring building, piecing together, even cigar box guitars..try Rock slides the brass ones, I got the small one fits on my baby finger.. bye'eeee..

Elmo, how do you figure out how to buy locking tuners for your specific guitar? I just bought an Ibanez AZES40 and I really want to swap out the tuners for locking ones.
@@MrPolevaulter guess I’ll just buy new strings and wind them a few more times lol. It’s the one weakness of the guitar. It has split tuners and I have to constantly retune the guitar 🥲
I have been waiting exactly for this test. I'm pretty sure I'll get one of these, but in blue. Or the Larry Carlton T7. Will see when I have played both. I'm fairly confident, though, that I will make either one sound terrible.
Elmo, this sounded great, but I'm not so sure about the dark fretboard! I prefer maple fingerboards! My 1967 FenderTele Custom with double binding, had a maple fretboard!
Man, you really looked like you had a lot of fun. For the price it seems to be a real fun machine. I really like that strange color effect, it's kinda funny, a unique touch. Wonder if it was intended to be that way, or if it just happens.
I own a couple of Harley Benton's, And bought my First one 2+yrs back, a CST24T and was so impressed I went for the Tele VT52, with it being a Blackface model, in Natural Blonde, and had that one Plek'd and it's Brilliant but the CST24 is an exceptional Guitar, for the Price, Probably the best in their Line, Can see PRS sweating Bullets, when they saw the Cost I used to be a Gear Snob, but that's changed, with the purchase of my Harley Benton's with the new Factory producing the CST24 now, May well buy another, as they are even Better Now, with a Nicer Carve on the Body
I'm curious how this guitar sound on Direct comparasion with Fender Player Telecaster. Can You do this for us? If this will sound at the same quality lvl i'll think about buying this guitar (after I explain my wife that fact that I NEED place for next guitar XD).
Hi, I like your reviews. You don't hold back your opinions on what you think of the guitars. I would like you to review the "Harley Benton DC--580 CH Vintage series. I know you have reviewed the DC--Custom which is a better quality guitar. But I like SG guitars with two volume / two tone pots. Thank You.

Don't waste your money on old Gear - I had the Vox20, PF15, Fender LT25, GTX50 this year and I fell in love with......the NUX MG-30 - try it if if you not lookin for an Amp with Speaker 🙏🏼
@@jann_rygh sorry for the late response, I see that nux has some great features, but unfortunately it is out of reach for me :(, I'll just have to find something else. Enjoy jamming with it!
That's a scream of a guitar for the money. Pickups aren't great but you're not expecting vintage handwound numbers at this price point. Swap them and *maybe* the bridge and you're laughing. Bravo HB!
If Fender had been created 25 years ago, it is very likely that the brand would not have the same aura and would not allow itself to sell models for more than $1,000. If you put Fender on a Harley Benton, the selling price immediately increases tenfold. A brand means having a quality product, because the brand image is at stake, but also the "prestige" that the brand gives off. Prestige that the brand has acquired by its material, but especially by the musicians who have used them. HB could perfectly build an exact copy of a high-end Fender (100% identical) and sell it for the same price; but it wouldn't work. HB does not have the prestige of Fender. You'd have to sell for a lot less to attract people. HB is a store brand. A loss leader with little margin. Their goal is to get the customer to come to them with good, inexpensive models and to keep them coming back so they buy everything from them. If HB was an independent brand, the price would be higher. The guitar in the video would be maybe 2 or 3 times more expensive. If tomorrow (still in the case of HB being an independent brand), a legendary guitarist went on stage with an HB (the one in the video) then his fans would want the same model and the price would explode. The price of an object is not due to the cost of manufacturing, but to the value that the buyer gives it.

@@norseatheart1086 I'm not sure about the glossy fretboard. Have to try them out with my own hands.
You are a great player Bro you did that 😅
I just got the orange dual terror tube head what do u think of it
Don't think I've tried it.
Elmo, this sounded great, but I'm not so sure about the dark fretboard! I prefer maple fingerboards! My 1967 FenderTele Custom with double binding, had a maple fretboard!
I really like this but I have an unreasonable distaste for poplar. Am I being silly? I hope I am, actually. If that makes any sense.
Is this in Chile?
Man, you really looked like you had a lot of fun. For the price it seems to be a real fun machine.
I really like that strange color effect, it's kinda funny, a unique touch. Wonder if it was intended to be that way, or if it just happens.
I wondered about that too.
I own a couple of Harley Benton's, And bought my First one 2+yrs back, a CST24T and was so impressed
I went for the Tele VT52, with it being a Blackface model, in Natural Blonde, and had that one Plek'd and it's Brilliant
but the CST24 is an exceptional Guitar, for the Price, Probably the best in their Line, Can see PRS sweating Bullets, when they saw the Cost
I used to be a Gear Snob, but that's changed, with the purchase of my Harley Benton's
with the new Factory producing the CST24 now, May well buy another, as they are even Better Now, with a Nicer Carve on the Body
Danka!
Elmo have you tried reviewing the hb fusion thh?
Nope.
You shredded the crap out of that guitar! I am surprised there is still a fretboard attached! 🤓
Haha :D Cheers!
Have you been watching Norms Rare Guitars Channel by any chance?
I've seen a video or two I think.
Can you do a Video of HB TE 20 MN please?
Fender has a hard time selling the red ones, let's try to help change that with Harley Bentin!
I'm curious how this guitar sound on Direct comparasion with Fender Player Telecaster. Can You do this for us? If this will sound at the same quality lvl i'll think about buying this guitar (after I explain my wife that fact that I NEED place for next guitar XD).
Filmed a comparison video, but not sure when it will be out.
Love that they put double binding on such a cheap tele. What’s your excuse, Fender?
Hi, I like your reviews. You don't hold back your opinions on what you think of the guitars. I would like you to review the "Harley Benton DC--580 CH Vintage series. I know you have reviewed the DC--Custom which is a better quality guitar. But I like SG guitars with two volume / two tone pots. Thank You.
Thanks! Maybe at some point.
I am going to buy this guitar and buy a fender maple neck to put on it instead of it having the rosewood fingerboard here.
Hello mr. Karjalainen, I was wondering could you try a vox modeling amp, to be precise vt 20x/40x beacuse it is the best rated out of modeling amps on Thoman and I know how much you love your micro cube so maybe a comparison would be nice:) thank you
Don't waste your money on old Gear - I had the Vox20, PF15, Fender LT25, GTX50 this year and I fell in love with......the NUX MG-30 - try it if if you not lookin for an Amp with Speaker 🙏🏼
Hi Otto! Maybe at some point, but I have a ton of stuff going on, so not sure when.
@@MrPolevaulter I understand, just keep posting great videos and you'll be fine without this comparisson:)
@@jann_rygh sorry for the late response, I see that nux has some great features, but unfortunately it is out of reach for me :(, I'll just have to find something else. Enjoy jamming with it!
@@ottoporcer5088 NUX MG-300 then? same range as an used VT40 😎🤘🏻
That's a scream of a guitar for the money. Pickups aren't great but you're not expecting vintage handwound numbers at this price point. Swap them and *maybe* the bridge and you're laughing. Bravo HB!
Which Harley Benton Tele to buy? I mainly play Country.
This.
@@MrPolevaulter Thanks!
1 American Strat/Tele for $1600??
Or
7 Harley Bentons for $1600?
I'll take 7 please.
are the frets made of Stainless?
Hope it's lighter than the 11lbs on my te52
It is much lighter, from personal experience.
feels lighter than Paper
Yeah, much lighter.
Kumpaa suosittelisit, TE62 vai TE52? Muistatko miten kaula profiilit eroavat toisistaan? Kiinostaisi kovasti ostaa jompikumpi ku vain osais päättää😬
62. 52 painoi kuin synti. 62:n kaula oli aika paksu. Toisesta en muista millainen se oli koska se painoi niin paljon :D
Привет Ильич!🤩
Have a te 52 weighs a ton
I think I'm gonna sell my hb sc-400 and buy this instead :D
👍🏻👍🏻
