I have had my heart set on getting a Yeti for I do not know how long. About 6 days ago I happened upon a comparison study between the Yeti 32 ounces and the Ozark Trailblazer, 32 ounce. I was shocked how evenly matched they were, with the Trailblazer having a dark top and a spot for a straw. Both went into the next day and beyond with ice still there. So I bought the $8.94, Trailblazer instead of the over $30 Yeti and used the money saved to buy the Yeti to purchase a $9.98 sliding lid replacement and a Big Mac with change left over. It has been a fun week for me.
Just a side note......No one ever does a taste test when comparing these items. I originally bought a Hydro Flask and was seriously disappointed at the fact that it felt like I had a mouth full of coins when drinking from it. I did some research and the Yeti has a copper layer in between the other layers to take that metallic taste out of it. I bought the Yeti and have never gone back to anything else. I guess there may be a reason they cost more?
Thanks for the video and thoroughness of redoing the test and seeing it through. Also appreciated the selection of the brands most of us would like comparisons done on.
I have a yeti 26 oz rambler that is 3 years old, gets abused daily works great and feels solid...I had the classic stanley many years ago and it was a tank...however It sat for a few years unused and had some discoloration inside (rust?) so I didnt feel comfortable using it any longer
Sooo, I wanted to love the Trail series Hydro Flask. Picked up on Thrusday had through weekend, driving to work Monday, hit my brakes flask rolled to floor board, I couldn't reach it so I had to wait to get to work, picked it up and scratched ALL over it 😥 my brand new $50 beautiful blue trail series was completely marred just from rolling around on my floop matts. To say that Im disappointed is a vast understatement. These thing are made to be durable, my hibiscus hydro (had for 5 years) doesnt reveal scratch only dings. Something to consider for those that are doing research. Yes they are much lighter!! But, b/c of no powdercoat the slick reflective finish on the trail series that will most definitely shows even the smallest of scratches.
That’s crazy, I saw a video a couple years ago comparing an Ozark bottle to a Yeti bottle and the Ozark came on top. Crazy to see the results are the same in your video years later.
I have 24oz HF trail obsidian...and now i need a little bigger one. So i bough the 32oz trail after watching this video. Trail series is amazing. Super light and looking nice. I have 24oz refular hflask. I def prefer the trail series.
Hi my name Steven Rogers My favorite water bottle choices is Stanley classic and ozark trail water bottle They are the greatest Cool water bottles is good 👍 Water bottle my favorite Is ozark trail 32 0z
This was a really well made video, you deserve more subscribers! Just subbed myself. I'm going to get the Trail Series Hydro Flask, the aesthetics just look the nicest.
I have a Zak! brand. I paid about $10 bucks for it. It's about 32 oz or so. It keep ice water in it ... in the car while I work and come out 6-8 hours later. The interior measured 140 F, the outside of the bottle was 120F, and still has ice water in it. It keeps ice water without much melting at al if left on my counter over night.
Walmart nailed it with just bout every single product that is meant to mimic yetis. Every yeti like product from them i ever bout surpassed the performance of the yeti.(based on multiple TH-cam testing videos)
I think you have a fake yeti. All my yeti’s all keep ice in them for over 48 hours, hydro flask lasted maybe 12 hours, swell lasts well over 36 hours and the rest… way less than 6 hours
@@PaulPeckham I wasn’t saying it’s fake, I swear! I should’ve clarified that it think it’s interesting how no matter what brand of bottle tested, they all seem to come out with different results. When Swell was a big thing I somehow got a ton of the same size as gifts so I did kind of what you did. Took so many ice cubes in each one, all the same size. Each one lasted a different amount of time. Some 10 hours and one lasted days. I have the yeti you tried, the one with the handle & straw, you’d think the one that doesn’t see light would last longer right? Nope. My one with the straw holds ice for days- even when it’s left to bake in the car at 100% humidity and 98 degrees. I did really enjoy your video though. Really interesting!
I know you put the same number of ice cubes in each, but did you put the exact same amount of water in each of them, or did you just fill it up to whatever capacity it was? I think maybe that would make a difference, too.
I don't understand why people buy Yeti. They are waaaaay overpriced. I guess they are trendy, which I could care less about. Dont buy Yeti products. Stanley are amazing products and give great functionality across all versions.
I worked at a store that sold a few water bottle brands, Yeti and Hydro Flask included. The Yetis sold like crazy while the Hydro Flask collected dust. Eventually they had to be moved away from the front of the store to make room for more Yetis. It must be the power of a brand.
Of what real value are these tests? They are not useful in the real world. Who fills a water bottle daily then does not drink from them? What does it matter if one stays colder twice as long than another - all will be emptied several times during the day before the water loses it’s cool? To me price and durability are far more important.
like the other commenter said, its helpful on longer trips. I'll pack some cold brew or hot tea or something for a camping trip, or a road trip, then drink it the next morning still cold.

Maybe this is a silly question but would that coin-taste also be because it was new? I wonder after one or two washes the gross taste would go away.
@@lyssnyss3168 yes. It is because it's new, this person is just a little slow lol

thank you for the review. YETI should lower their prices down
First comment! Thanks so much for watching!
@@PaulPeckham YW! I enjoyed your videos, can't believe that it still not 1000 subs yet.

You should've used thermometer

Thank you!
Aesthetics do not equal functionality. Functionality is what you are paying for. Never buy something just because it looks cool.
@@michaelweems679 But in the real world the performance might not be that different. It also depends on what you need out of it.
My favorite water bottle choices
Ozark trail 32 0z and
Ozark trail 24 0z

It is helpful!!!

I wonder how long walmart one would maintain the temp isolation
You didn’t put on zojirushi which if you had put in 10 ice cubes and filled it with water it would still have have ice for 12 to 15 hours
Gracias por le video...
Hi
Good video
I I'm going to Thai the hydro flask
If I can find one to buy in UK

Thanks for watching!
That Hydro Trail looks so metal
Well I'm getting the Ozark then, thanks
Wish you had 'The Coldest Water Bottle.' It'll crush all those other brands.
The problem with the Walmart Ozark is the lid will crack if you drop it.
Don't drop it!!! Lol 😂
Helpful video!

Don't show it to Ozark, They'll raise their prices...
Your going to be drinking the water. I would think a legit test would be ice only no water
Is that the trail series Hydro Flask? What color is it?
Yes it is. I think it was bronze? I can't remember. It was the darker of the three.

When you are hiking outdoors, a thermos bottle is needed
