Don't forget to download the midi files and audio stems for free! (link in description box) Just a quick note about the midi files -- There are two types of midi files, the exported midi files from my Dorico session, and the exported midi file from my Cubase session. Because of how the Orchestral Tools libraries work, with every instrument being a bit unique in how you have to line midi notes up, this midi file will sound like all the rhythms are not in sync. But if you have Berlin Brass it should line up perfectly! Also, the audio stems should line up with the cubase session midi file! Enjoy!
That chorale section really blew my mind, as did the rest after. I felt like the piece really transformed with each variation. I also really appreciate how you walked us through your decision making for why you gave the different notes to each instrument. Great video as always, thank you! I'll definitely be re-watching this series to make sure I've grasped everything correctly.
This set of videos just gets better and better and now with free midi to help one learn directly in your own daw! Packed with info that I will watch over and over. I love to write music on piano so this is perfect. Gracias amigo. I am glad you are going with patreon.
Glad you enjoy it! I hope the midi files serve you well! Let me know if there are any issues with the files, as I didn't have time to check everything fully. Midi files can be a bit quirky, and I know DAWs like Cubase will try to assign instruments to each track, but sometimes that means that your tuba track will sound like a tambourine or something.
@@AlexHeppelmann I downloaded the zip and the cubase midi loads in nicely with all the tracks labeled correctly. This is a very powerful way to help people learn. Hands on with great examples. I think your wise to use patreon as it will give myself and others a way to focus and will give you a reason to keep putting in the hours of work to make these well thought out tutorials. Sometimes it takes the internet a while to realize the wheat from the chaff, so keep going. In my opinion tutorials like these are rare and of great value.
Again Alex just a simple thanks for a complicated task that you had, thank you again it was a perfect dessert after my supper while I was washing my dishes. Your arrangements were so perfect and varied. A pleasure to listen to., Success in your project!
Thank you so much for helping us to become better musicians! I watched your "From Piano to Strings" video and did my own orchestrations for each example so I could compare with yours and see what I could improve. I´m gonna do the same with Piano to Winds and Brass. I´m learning and practicing a lot, thank you Alex!
Another great video. Will you be providing files for all the videos prior to this one on Patreon? Dorico files would also be great to mockup with Noteperformer.
I'll probably add older video midi files over time to the patreon page, as I'm sure that I'll have to go back to those older Cubase project files and clean things up quite a bit. I'll definitely add the Dorico files from older videos, probably within the first month of starting the patreon page!
