- The Chicago White Sox defeated the Boston Red Sox, 7-2, at Fenway Park on September 8, 2024. Chris Flexen went 6.0 IP with 6 hits, 2 ER, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Prelander Berroa, Fraser Ellard and Justin Anderson all came in for relief.
The White Sox offense went off in the 9th with 5 runs to secure the win!
Following today's series finale at Fenway Park, the White Sox return to Guaranteed Rate Field for their penultimate six-game homestand vs. Cleveland (9/9-11) and Oakland (9/13-15).

It doesn't bode well for a team's reputation when you are happy about winning 1 of 3. Still, this was a great game with the Sox hitters showing in the 9th what they can do when they stick to the fundamentals. Don't try to drive a pitch you can't drive. Hit what is thrown to you. Make contact and go to the opposite field, and good things will happen.
That was some really sloppy baserunning by Boston. And who is the idiot who designed their city connect uniforms? Bright yellow?
I wonder about the wisdom of some of these designers.
@@mariopalos9238 At least both the Sox and Cubs city connect uniforms look cool. I have both. San Diego's are the worst. If I played for the Padres, I'd retire before wearing that thing.
I'm a huge Sox fan but this is not there year. Hopefully they can rebuild in 2 years like the bears rebuilding in 2 years and becoming a top 5 team
