Y' know, this is one of my favorite guitar solos in all rock and roll. I know it pretty well and if I do say so myself, I'm not exactly a slouch on guitar. But I got to say I found it very challenging to get close to Gilmour's style and not fall back onto speedy licks or my usual stuff that always seems to sound good. I've always respected him as a guitarist but now, even more so. When they say he makes every note count, he really does make every note count. It's really not that easy to play this slow. It's counterintuitive but it's so. You need to find those notes that count and continue to sound fresh and not repeat yourself. It's really not easy.
That initial piece of advice was so sincere I nearly cried. Seriously though, some people's children just cannot refrain from telling someone else what to do. That was was inspirational. Well done, lad. Thank you.
Thank you for this track. It’s Incredible With your help I now can play one of the best solo’s ever in the history of Rock and roll. Gilmour is so talented!
Thanks, bro. This backing track has allowed me to just nail the fuck out of the Time solo. It really gives you an opportunity to hone all the little nuances, and really wail on those bends and vibratos untill you get them just right. I wish all solo backing tracks were this cherry.
This is awesome! I use it to try and connect triads with soloing. works amazing, just the right amount of challenge. Btw for all you intermediates out there: try it. It also helps you learn the notes in the fretboard if you think of the triads anchored to the root e.g. f#m: find the f# on e.g. the B-string -> 7 fret. Your chord around the B-string is the Dm-shape. Same with G-string: 11th fret, Am-shape etc... This is the best exercise i know right now. Thank you so much!
It really is. I have had my delay pedal for about a year, and I'm now just figuring it out. Haha. Well, 3 jobs and grad school, plus a family --better late than never!
Never thought I would be jamming to a Pink Floyd track...thank the Gods of Music, I found Guitar before the shiznit hit the fryer!! Thx for the track, Man! 🤘👽🎸
I played this over and over jam along with little yet sound big Yamaha THR10C bedroom amp. Total awesome! Thank you for making this emotional backing track. I really enjoy it.
Really well laid. Perfectly timed transitions , I’m going to have fun with this one. I’m glad you left the slides for us. I have this one on another track , but it’s the actual song with the guitar pulled out. So not as much room to play around.
I can't Thank You enough for your efforts on these NYS tracks. Very much appreciated and am very grateful for the impact your work has helped improve my playing and therefore my very existence.. Namaste
F sharp minor pentatonic should be your base. Build into a major in chorus. No need for all these notes. Keep simple and pimp them strings. Quick tip for every major or minor chord, there is its alternative major or minor. Few examples include e minor/g major, a minor/c major, d minor/f major. And F sharp minor/ a major. Understand this with pentatonic major and minor positions 1 through 4 at least and you can shred this beautifully for hours. This is for anyone reading not just the reply. Now you shred
I’ve checked several of your videos, and these are far and away the best backing tracks with the most helpful bits of information I have ever seen. Thank you for your efforts.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You obviously put your heart and soul into this and it shows. My only regret is that I did not discover this channel sooner. Plus one subscriber.
Just wanna say thanks for this baby....its a great help telling us where to switch & land.Im hoping it'll improve my soloing, help memorise Aeolian ,reinforce Ionian & aid a bit of ear training.Amazing thank u again. My only quibble....no Angus Young, but theres alot to keep me amused
Awesome! This has been helping me a lot to improve my bendings and the use of the scales. You've got a new suscriber, thanks a lot! Greetings from Colombia

good stuff. Just to nitpick, i believe Time has a bpm of 60 as a nod to time itself (1 beat a second) instead of 63. The track itself is awesome though
Hahaha glad i seen this comment. I was trying to sing/play the song with the ingrained rhythm and thought i was a bit broken but trusted my gut to read the comments 😂🤣. Haha still good tho, thanks!

Yes yes . I try juicing the Algo as much as possible for you .
It's IMPOSSIBLE not to play Time's solo here... I think I played it over and over and over without getting bored.
Agreed!
@@nowyoushred thanks for the video man
Just broke a string! Your backing tracks are the guitarist's wet dream ♥️
Now that is a great compliment!

I could not agree more man
He definitely had a way of letting things breath in beetween. Something I'm trying to remind myself more when I improvise.
I have spent hours on this track...thanks so much for putting it out! Time just flies when I am bending and shredding!
Thanks for your comment, and thanks for jamming!!

Just ran through this 3 times with my strat/blues jr iv/bd-2w - I couldn't stop!!!
Make us a video!
This goddamn solo is so sneaky tricky!! I'm like 2 takes away from nailing it...these damn bends have to be so perfect!
I had a BLAST soloing over this today!
I’m stoked!😀💥🎸🔥
You can never go wrong with a Pink Floyd Style backing track to start the day. Great advice on the scales! Will use this with my students...
Thanks!

Yes!! That is the idea my friend!
I got the delay set perfect, and I'm playing this track over and over and over in the basement. Thank you NYS!!!
yeah man, I wish people would spend a little more time getting the right sound!. It's so worth it, right?
It really is. I have had my delay pedal for about a year, and I'm now just figuring it out. Haha. Well, 3 jobs and grad school, plus a family --better late than never!
now i know why Gilmour was so inspired in this solo!!!
I like how you give advice at the beginning, pretty cool idea.

Floyd Style, if Floyd Style is the solo backing track to Time. Perfect for practicing the solo, by the way.
so much fun to play over this! can you make a backing for Wots... Uh the Deal?
Great request!
Gave me goosebumps
awesome!
SWEET SOUND

He basically ripped off TIME but in a different key
Awesome!

Nice to jam to 👍🏻
Agreed!
good stuff. Just to nitpick, i believe Time has a bpm of 60 as a nod to time itself (1 beat a second) instead of 63. The track itself is awesome though
DUDE, you just blew my mind... and you're right!
You're both wrong. Time is 128bpm, but can sound like 64. The myth that it's 60bmp, like 60 seconds, is a wife's tale.
Hahaha glad i seen this comment. I was trying to sing/play the song with the ingrained rhythm and thought i was a bit broken but trusted my gut to read the comments 😂🤣. Haha still good tho, thanks!
@@cryptoskywalker6000 how does nobody know about cut time?
Man... I needed that
The only way you can start this jam is by bending a fuzzy G string on 4th fret!
Very true!
or D on 4th string, from there you can go down to g or slide up to 7th
if you could display chords as they passs it would be great
I’ve got an app coming out that will do all of that!
Love all your stuff... just went to one of the best places I've gone to in a while with this backing track. Great stuff man!
Thanks Chris!
classic
This is just the backing track for Time, found out by playing the solo over it
Edit: didnt see it said time in the title 😂
