Nico is "OK" and should be available for Georgia, Gaston was superb in guiding the team in the second half, Defense did well again, offensive and defensive lines survived a pretty good Ole Miss team and game plan.
What sucked so bad about losing Hooker in 22 was that he was out of eligibility. We didn't get to see him take us to the post season. With a secondary and healthy Hendo Cinco we would've been national champs in 22.
Also, I’d just like to say that Miss State fans were GREAT! Their band cheered our band, and they were just super cordial. I’m really pulling for Lebby to make them a solid team
Theory. Nico was not injured. Knowing Vols would almost certainly win was taken out a) to give Gaston some real time under fire experience in case of future need b) make Georgia prepare for two QBs c) give rest to Nico and in fact if he was "dinged" more time to recover and avoid getting further hurt.
Keep in mind, Heupel is playing chess while most coaches are playing checkers. Remember the onside kickoff with a 30 pt lead the week before OU? That was SOLELY for OU...to get them to take 2-3 hours of practice time prepping for it. And we never used it. So...Nico staying in the locker room may be a psych move by CJH more than anything else.
Now at least GA will take several hours this week preparing for a different qb. But man I'm praying Nico is good to go. Huepel said precautionary measures and he expects him to be ready to go this week.
Don't be too cocky about it. Georgia will be looking for revenge next week. I don't see Georgia losing 2 ganes in a row. At all. We have to play them in Athens, too. And Georgia will know if they beat us they can still be in the playoff race. We will get a hungry and the best Georgia team we have seen this year. I hooe we are ready for it.
Getting a quality back up QB going forward is gonna be tough with the NIL in place. If a guy feels he should start he just leaves. I sat in the upper deck at the old Pontiac silverdome and it was the same! Didn’t dare to stand at first!
For everyone wondering if Moore will be good. Don't forget about Stetson Bennett. He wasn't a starter , he was an average QB but with an elite defense and great weapons around him he led UGA to back to back Nattys
Heupel might be a gamesman but he doesn't mislead about injuries, never seen that. Based on what Heupel said, it sounds like Nico got concussed so they held him out of the second half, probably a medical decision. GBO!
We have held opponents to under 20 pts in all our games but can we do like Ole Miss and do the same thing against Georgia? We are 9 pt underdogs. But we need Nico next week.
Let’s hope Josh is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Perhaps, Nico was slightly injured and Josh keep him in the locker room and challenged Moore and the defense to win the game for us. And if needed put call Nico out of the locker room and put him back in. Hopefully it is all precautionary.
One step up and two steps back 🎶 And I don’t believe some people are saying gamesmanship to throw off Georgia…..not a chance with only a 10-13 point lead. That would be too ballsy. GBO! Oh yeah Gaston moved the ball better in two spring games than others I won’t name. It’s just unfortunate cause he has not had the game reps under pressure. But if they keep it short move the chains he will be fine. I just hope Nico’s alright. Shoulder, concussion protocol, collarbone, or peck muscle…..not good this late in the season. Unless it’s concussion protocol…..he won’t be using those running legs to get positive yards and that will be rough for him and the fan base.
Red zone offense stunk, against a really bad team that we allowed to stay in the ball game...their run numbers were great compared to our 'daunting' defense! Vols better take their A game to UGA!
Nico is in the Return To Play protocol. Heup didn’t need to risk it to beat MSU either. Play it safe for everyone. Nico will likely return to practice Wednesday or Thursday if he passes all of the test.
In football your second QB is one play away from being the guy...its a sport were you can get injured quickly so that next man up needs to be prepared.
That's dumb! Kirby has shut our offense down year after year. His team will prepare for Nico and whoever! Something isn't right! Nico didn't even come to the sidelines! Either concussion or something else either way it's a problem until they give us more info. We all know coach speak so...
Ranking just got published. Not that it matters, but it is obvious that the sports writers are aligned with the Big 10. Penn State and Indiana ahead of the Vols? HAHA!
Johnny Utah was in point break movie the replacements was Shane Falco and the guy that got everyone throwing up was the sumo wrestler playing o line and it made everyone else throw up lol love the show j
When a coach says "we anticipate them being able to play" that means thry don't know how serious its going to be. More than likely Nico is going to have to have a MRI or something to see how bad it really is.
Georgia opens as a 9.5 point favorites, and everybody is talking like we have no chance against Georgia. Also Alabama is getting all the love, I doubt they honor our head to head if we do loose to Georgia. I hope our defense hears all the talk this week, Carson beck and uga ain’t just gonna magically fix their issues against the best defense in the sec
Gaston did a solid job, I feel good about it, especially since GA got that butt beat. Only downside is that their playoff run starts next week so they will be bringing it. Fortunately, defense is pretty much guaranteed turnovers with the GA qb.
We learned a lot from our 2022 loss in Athens. Remember, we had about 150 false start penalties due to the unusually loud crowd, whistles etc. they got in our Oline’s heads. Plus, we do NOT have the same defensive unit now that we had then by a long shot!. We need to do exactly what ole miss Dline did, rush non stop!
Upper body injury typically means chest/ribs area, shoulder or back. Also an AC tear or sprain is another possibility If he’s injured, you can watch the play he supposedly got hurt on, it looks like he fell on the ball in the EZ. Until Heup tells us definitively, we will not know for sure exactly what injury Nico has, if he’s injured at all.
Huepel said it was precautionary and expects for him to be ready for next week. Let's pray that's the case. All those ppl saying Nico needs to take more hits and run more should probably be quiet. Nico does this team no good if he's out injured.
If it truly is an upper body injury the only thing I can assume from experience that will keep him from coming back out onto the sideline would be some type of rib injury.
Let’s face it, taking Heup’s words as gospel is not a good idea. I knew what he was going to say before he said it! Watching Texas and Ole Miss yesterday, not sure we could beat either of them if I’m being honest.,
Did u see Connar on the boys saying every team has two of him and he would just change his play after the called there play that they thought they stole
On one run towards halftime Nico looked like he went helmet to helmet with one of his lineman. Or when he was pulled on that play Tennessee was flagged for he could have injured something then
How about them 'DOGS' @ Ole Miss !?! --- Where will they be ranked next week ? A Tenn loss will really hurt - 'now' - if Georgia wins (?) given their loses ? --- All of a sudden..... being 1 in 12 looks harder !!!
We can afford to lose the Georgia game (and possibly make the CFP) by sitting NICO out & we should be able to win the UTEP game but we will need him in the Vandy game and for the post season.
Georgia lost to a very good ole miss team so the will be ready for tennessee and its in Athens so no refs to help tennessee. Gaston is better than nico
Proud of our Volunteers!! We are actually in a great position. We’ve had adversity and the Team has grown together 👍 Thank you J🇺🇸🍊🍊GBO
Nico is "OK" and should be available for Georgia, Gaston was superb in guiding the team in the second half, Defense did well again, offensive and defensive lines survived a pretty good Ole Miss team and game plan.
Prob won't know till game time next sat.
How is Thornton jr
Looks like a concussion
Mississippi St
MiMississippi is the worst team in the sec and Gaston is the better qb between himself and nico
Nice to see Cameron Seldon get some touches and play in his 5th game of the year.
Yeah, we may need him more this year definitely can use him next year, I was thinking he was out the door, hopefully now he stays!!
It stressed me to, ,I've been a tn fan. Since the 80s, I believe the way I heard coach H. say he will be ready for the Georgia game
Theory. Nico was not injured. Knowing Vols would almost certainly win was taken out a) to give Gaston some real time under fire experience in case of future need b) make Georgia prepare for two QBs c) give rest to Nico and in fact if he was "dinged" more time to recover and avoid getting further hurt.
Happy Sunday folks!!! Appreciate the content brother J!

Could be...or it was just precautionary getting Xrays done and relying on his defense to carry them. My guess is a seperated shoulder.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Miami, Georgia. Upset weekend.
Don't be too cocky about it. Georgia will be looking for revenge next week. I don't see Georgia losing 2 ganes in a row. At all. We have to play them in Athens, too.

Good one STJ. GBO!!!!
Coach H. Just said he expects Nicole to play next week
Nico is GOOD TO GO. WR and RB are good !!!
Getting a quality back up QB going forward is gonna be tough with the NIL in place. If a guy feels he should start he just leaves. I sat in the upper deck at the old Pontiac silverdome and it was the same! Didn’t dare to stand at first!

Gaston looked good, but no Nico..it is what it is , but we'll be ok..GO VOLS
I thought Gaston played efficiently. All hope is not lost without nico. But thank goodness sounds like it was more precautions than anything GBO, 🍊👍
One step up and two steps back 🎶

Wonder why cam seldon not playing much
Coach H is playing poker with Kirby.
That's dumb! Kirby has shut our offense down year after year. His team will prepare for Nico and whoever! Something isn't right! Nico didn't even come to the sidelines! Either concussion or something else either way it's a problem until they give us more info. We all know coach speak so...
I swear they opened the offense up when Gaston came in.
Ranking just got published. Not that it matters, but it is obvious that the sports writers are aligned with the Big 10. Penn State and Indiana ahead of the Vols? HAHA!

how likely is it that Coach Hype took him out to play games with the Bulldogs?
Great! Just in time for the UGA game =(
Georgia opens as a 9.5 point favorites, and everybody is talking like we have no chance against Georgia. Also Alabama is getting all the love, I doubt they honor our head to head if we do loose to Georgia.
I hope our defense hears all the talk this week, Carson beck and uga ain’t just gonna magically fix their issues against the best defense in the sec
I heard it was precautionary...CJH May be saving him for Georgia.
Coach said after the game he should be good to go for next weekend. It was precautionary, maybe a stinger
Jay calm down. Shin splints can be treated. GO BIG ORANGE ROLLING!!!!!
Gaston did a solid job, I feel good about it, especially since GA got that butt beat. Only downside is that their playoff run starts next week so they will be bringing it. Fortunately, defense is pretty much guaranteed turnovers with the GA qb.
How about Donte , is he ok ?
we lost Colquitt then we lost Helton and then started a freshman named Manning..... we will be fine
I believe Nico is fine and for the second half of a homecoming game why not throw a senior QB in there and keep Nico 100% for the Georgia game
I didn’t see a great defense tonight against a 2-7 team
Man we need to just embrace defense and Sampson. Just like Obi Wan that's our only hope.
I wish Georgia would have win. When was the last time Georgia lost 2 in a row?
Yep they will be mad for sure, plus its in Athens.
This isn’t the same uga team that Kirby normally has
We learned a lot from our 2022 loss in Athens. Remember, we had about 150 false start penalties due to the unusually loud crowd, whistles etc. they got in our Oline’s heads. Plus, we do NOT have the same defensive unit now that we had then by a long shot!. We need to do exactly what ole miss Dline did, rush non stop!
@ unfortunately we have a freshman QB & that will play a factor
This defense hasnt given up more than 20 pts this season , theres only 5 other teams that have done that and all those won a natty.
Coach Hueple said they "expect" tbat Nico will be back next week. That usually means its a bad injury.
Has anyone seen tbe play he got hurt on?
Upper body injury typically means chest/ribs area, shoulder or back. Also an AC tear or sprain is another possibility If he’s injured, you can watch the play he supposedly got hurt on, it looks like he fell on the ball in the EZ. Miss St played GA CLOSE
I wonder if the Nico thing was more of a coaching sit out than an injury.
We didn't even have a huge lead! Why would he sit him on purpose! Y'all are wild!
If it truly is an upper body injury the only thing I can assume from experience that will keep him from coming back out onto the sideline would be some type of rib injury.
Let’s face it, taking Heup’s words as gospel is not a good idea. I knew what he was going to say before he said it! Watching Texas and Ole Miss yesterday, not sure we could beat either of them if I’m being honest.,
Nico’s dad left the game at the half and left his seat, idk how to interpret that 🤷🏼♀️
Could’ve gone to be with Nico in the LR
Tony Robinson ?
Nico didn't come out cause he was at the hospital. At least that's what I read on X. No idea how true.
Did u see Connar on the boys saying every team has two of him and he would just change his play after the called there play that they thought they stole
When they did the pledge the jet when they did dint came though what happen with it
On one run towards halftime Nico looked like he went helmet to helmet with one of his lineman.
Tony Robinson not Tony White
Yep or T Rob
J...IF OLE MISS CAN BEAT GEORGIA ANYONE CAN.....GO VOLS....GO NIKO....
Ole Miss is possibly the best team in the country right now
I heard somewhere it was 5-7 days for a concussion
It's a possible concussion
We can afford to lose the Georgia game (and possibly make the CFP) by sitting NICO out & we should be able to win the UTEP game but we will need him in the Vandy game and for the post season.
No we can not!!!! Had we not dropped that game to crappy Arkansas we could but if we lose to Georgia we're done bud
@ maybe just can’t see us running the table
@utcnc7mm if we hadn't lost that stupid Arkansas game we should've won by 30
Apparently Miss St doesnt teach pass defense, Just grab and hold and hope the refs get tired of calling it
Sorry I ment to say nico.
Georgia lost to a very good ole miss team so the will be ready for tennessee and its in Athens so no refs to help tennessee. Gaston is better than nico
We Are Gonna Out " Pray " Those Georgia Fans....And Then There's A Natty Game COMIN'.........
concussion
Great D-line for sure. 🤪🤪👎👎👎👎
It was not Tony White....it was Tony Robinson ffs.....you honestly have dementia
Stop it!!! People can get names mixed up wtf is wrong with you azzhole
Uga is going to destroy you in athens next week!
Aint nobody worried about Georgia 😂 Tennessee's toughest test left is Vandy.
@jayem846 This comment isn't going to age well.....
They are not destroying a team that hasn’t let an opponent score 20 all year. You all put up 10 on lane kiffin
@@samschrock618 they have dominated you the last 7 years in a row....look for that trend to continue....voltard man is delusional
Buckeyes worried. OSU looks sketchy
