Yash Thakkar this is not superstitious its true. Cutting nails on friday n thurs is good nd not superstitious. Even cutting nails at night is also scientifically bad likewise drinking water in night in standing position harm our body.

bro there is an explaination for second one. Salt was a very expensive and useful ingredient during ancient times, and if someone spilled it on floor, he was considered careless person, inviting troubles.

But If you think carefully there is a logic behind the things our elders have shared.. like scissor knife shouldn't be given to other persons hand as it may hurt him..that's why elders said keep in down..don't give directly..2nd when you are eye is winking you shouldn't go out as you can't see the way properly..more chances of slipping and falling.. whether its Brazil or India if you keep your bag down in public anyone can take and run away..so definitely you will loose financially if there was money or cards in it..so think guys before we confirm its superstitious..I always try to understand the logic behind it and then follow or ignore..just my observation..

The most weird superstition is probably one told by my aunt. She says that when a person is in a sad mood , they should not touch a long cloth, or any sharp object otherwise it might be their suicidal weapon. Very weird indeed.

Very nice and educative work. Okay coming to the point, there are many superstitions which are still a part of our day to day life. Most weirdest are (1) During eclipse (solar or lunar) if pregnant women cuts veggies (or anything for that matter), their child will born with cleft lips. (2) Caw-ing (cah) of crows indicates the arrival of guests; (3) Early morning dreams are the replica of future. The list is endless. It is surprising to see well educated people from our generation are also falling pray to these superstitions.
