- I went on Day 2 of Hoyofest 2023 in Malaysia and boy, it was such an experience that I wasn't ready for. Hence, a very scuffed vlog and a scuffed edit of said vlog.
From Genshin Impact to Honkai Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3, there was a booth for all of Hoyoverse's games/creations. Personally, my main tip is to probably aim for the morning if you plan to buy merch because even by 2pm, ALL of the HSR merch was gone and 1/4 of Genshin's. Either way, I still had fun but just expect to Q a lot!

Went to the event in the Philippines and it was not good!!! I was there THE WHOLE DAMN DAY from the mall opening!!! Nine and a half hours in line all the way up to the 5th floor just for the merch line. My friends were in line for event stuff and it took them 5 hours. Because of this, I was just in line on the stairs the whole time I was unable to experience this event. HORRIBLE experience from HoyoFest that was
conducted in such a small area resulting in extreme overcrowding. The bottleneck was a laminated sheets "book" everyone had to take soooooo much time to go through to choose the merch. Such a bad and inefficient way of doing it that slowed everything to a crawl. They should have just had the actual Merch displayed on a wall with item numbers below each and a simple order sheet you just needed to mark quantities next to the items you wanted so you wouldn't have to be flipping through a damn book. Who in the world planned this? Will never attend this crap again!!!
Yikes! That’s such a disaster. It seems like the merch lane is especially the worst organised. It’s a shame they didn’t share any learnings from the KL and Jakarta one - which was also a nightmare kinda.
I wish they would do this in Australia 😢
Hopefully one day. They’ve added more locations slowly since the previous hoyofest at least

I did not even manage to queue TO GET INSIDE for those booths and activities because I was queueing for merch since 10AM. Reached the counter at 5PM+... 🙃 I went there on the 1st day, 1st of August. A Tuesday. Packed AF. Its my 2nd hoyofest and comparing it with my 1st hoyofest back in 2021, that was way better considering at that time genshin/hoyo is a new thing. I was looking forward for this one because its hoyoverse's first time on their own without a collab with restaurants.. but I was disappointed. I feel like the organiser isn't doing a good job with almost everything. People went from hyped to stressed out by the afternoon cus it took such a long time for the queue to even move an inch. Songs were played in the morning and went dead silent afterwards.
Same! I was pretty excited but wah, just Q-ing and Q-ing only to have things run out or sold out… that was frustrating. Honestly, the restaurant collabs were a better experience if I compare them :/ hopefully it’ll be better next time. Maybe they underestimated the fans 😅
@@currynana Let’s hope the next one is much better. I can’t help but to compare with other countries’ hoyofest. Even Pom-Pom was just a standing plushie and not a mascot… 🥹💔
I was the same as you. Went there on 1st day, start queuing for merch from 930am till around 4pm+, didn't even get what I want because sold out. At that time they still haven't extent the merch booth, and it took them 3 hours+ to realised they need to extent the booth and need more staff to work on merch section, which is crazy to me xD. Overall not a good time, this is my 3rd hoyofest and also by far the worst.

I just brought any merch from Taobao app, from Mihoyo shop and Genshin shop. They shipped from china direct to my house.
Haha yeah and also it’s slightly cheaper but of course TB have to pay shipping
In Indonesia, someone queueing at 2 a.m. it opens at 10 a.m.

Why no merch?
Everything I wanted sold out and the Q was too longggg
if you want the merch then you will had to sacrifice your free time by queuing up for many hours...
I saw some post at social media that many people already queuing up at 5am...
It’s crazy. More disappointing if you Q so long and reached the counter only to see a lot of things sold out :/
