Freehugs doesn't bite whatsoever shes a neutral enemy, so if the child considers her friendly, it would be kinda right. I'd Image Helena would get Hug in there but leave due to actual Enemies.
This a personal confusion as the game is way too serious to have this work, I feel wrong looking at it since it doesn't go well with the theming of the rest of game or pepper. I find something more fitting would be her desperatly movinng back but loses her legs in the procces falling to ground belly down and dying. Maybe have her have the shootting when dying aswell to add to her character and add more use to her outside of somewhat damage support, it would sometimes happen to be unrealable more like an extra bonus if you plan it out right when it happens, still you don't rely on it. I feel this animation is more fitting for Carol(If i think she's the Gunslinger sheriff) as she fits the sexualzation while being fucking awsome at the same time, so this would make sense for her without feeling forced.
