- Wydad Casablanca ultras are known as some of the most passionate and dedicated ultras in the whole world of football. Some argue that Wydad ultra's are not just the best fans in Africa but the best fans across the world!
As an Syrian-American that speaks Arabic I went to Casablanca, Morocco and was able to communicate with the passionate fans in Arabic and in English. So in this video you'll see some of my Arabic skills! I attended the match between Wydad AC versus Riad Salmi at Stade Mohammed in Casablanca, Morocco. The match was filled with music, passionate fans chanting and singing, pyros and tifos! The fans were insane! The military and police presence was intense and the enviorment was incredible!
After the match I caught up with Imane Menchy who is a passionate women supporter of Wydad who attends almost every match! We talked about Wydad's history and their ties to Casablanca, and the presence of women supporters in Morocco.

wydad is the biggest c and the most titled club in Morocco, the ultras Winners are in my eyes the best ultras in the world, there is no comparison between wydad and Raja in terms of history or track record, Raja is the 2nd club in Casablanca and they were created just to compete with wydad their past is dark and marked by scandals, they will never be able to reach wydad's track record. just for clarification, wydad supporters name is Ultras Winners, it's great to see a syrian visit Morocco and get the chance to watch wydad games in the stadium even tho the game wasn't that Important, the real greatness of Ultras Winners shows up in the games where the club needs them the most, like in a much needed 3 point or a qualification game, then you'll witness something you'll never forget, they simply wear the Player number 1 jersey and not the 12, I highly suggest for you to do what many around europe do which is waiting for season tickets to be released and grab one asap ( last ones they costed 40$ and they allow you to watch all wydad games in the Moroccan league and champions league and league cup ) this way you can keep an eye on wydad games and when you see a champions league game or the derby vs raja or the classico vs FAR you can schedule it and pick up the first flight, the stadium in these games literally turns into HELL that's why african clubs calll wydad stadium the cemetery.

It was a pleasure and a honor! I was originally coming to the Dery against Raja but Raja had no supporters allowed so I had to cancel. I hope one day I will be able to attend that match and see the derby.

Raja Casablanca is indeed very popular but it gained popularity only in the past 20 years, but Wydad is historically considered the most popular in Morocco for 2 reasons: The first reason is political, Wydad was the only team during the colonial time that only play with moroccan players while the other teams had french players. It was considered like the national team by the moroccans and they called it WYDAD OF THE NATION. The second reason is because its the most successful club in Morocco, no club in Morocco had won more trophies than Wydad . Wydad has won it first league title in 1948 while Raja who was founded in 1949 won it first league title only in 1988 !
