Abandoned House | A Cowboy's Time Capsule | Forgotten Ohio 4K

  • This abandoned house and farm was built in 1949 was left untouched after what looks to be a fire on the 2nd floor. The interior design is wild! Crazy colors, furniture, kitchen, basement pool bar, etc. The personal artifacts all seem to be left on the second floor and we hope no one was lost in the fire. From socks in the drawers and tapes on how to catch a walleye. Another example of an abandoned place in Ohio that left us with so many questions.

    What a mess! I really hate when people come in and destroy these places. I could tell by the cabinets in the kitchen on the main floor there was a fire with the smoke stain on them. The black sink in the basement is a hair dressers sink.

    40’s or 50’s would be when the rounded designs were most popular… that basement had a waterline on everything down there….it had water in it for a long time….great explore y’all stay safe! Thank you

    The curves and star Formica countertops are from the '50s as a response to the space race. The one-bedroom with the painted pastel arrows gives me a teenage '70s vibe. My guess is it's a daughter's room. 13:38 black sink in the basement is designed for a hair salon. The beautician will lean the client backwards and rest the back of their neck in the crook of the sink.

    As someone who has been urbexing for years, I cannot bring myself to go into homes anymore. I can do amusement parks, hospitals, etc...but personal homes make me feel too much emotion and sadness that I refuse to visit them.

    • @OnceOccupied
      @OnceOccupied  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can totally understand that. But interesting enough I’m kind of the opposite. It’s that emotional and nostalgia that draws me in.

    The sink in the basement is a beauticians sink to wash hair. The house is definitely 1940s or 50s judging by the windows and the kitchen design

    At 3:28 is an old four prong telephone jack, with a modular plug adapter plugged into it! Next to that is an old electrical outlet which appears to be ungrounded! And the cord and plug hanging down look very old, as in 1950s at the latest.

    The corner cupboard, the BR tiles and rounded kitchen built ins looked a lot like things from houses in the 50s that some of my elderly aunts and uncles had in that area. The items in the upstairs appeared to be a little newer - maybe an area made in to an apt later. Enjoyed your work and especially the narration as always. Looks so cold there already. Glad I moved south!

    just a suggestion: bump up the frame rate and bump down the resolution. the sweeping shots are extremely jittery. assuming it's not happening on youtube's end, of course.

    After my sister died she have five old TVs in the house . I couldn’t find anyone who would recycle them because they were bigger than 27 inches. They also wanted 25 dollars a tv if the met the size requirements. Landfill won’t take em . I would imagine a place like this would be a good dumping spot for tube TVs
