    Nice one. Thanks for sharing details Neha! Is the same technique for coil type pendant? I mean the coil is thicker and surrounded at centre part?
    When we attach two parts, How long it will take to get complete dry?
    Is applying oil (little bit to clay surface its okay) in case excess, will it cause cracks or damage while firing?
    These doubts n more, were raised when I worked with clay, but no answers found. Please explain!

    • @nehagopinathpillai
      @nehagopinathpillai  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can make coils and make pots/jewelry using them. Excessive use of oil isn't necessary. It can sometimes dry out or handling the piece becomes a challenge as it gets slippery. A little oil is alright and it won't harm the piece during firing. It just burns off. While attaching two pieces, depending on the thickness of each piece, the drying time would vary between 2 to 4 days. I think the drying time is also dependant on the external factors such as weather. Thicker the piece, the longer it takes to dry.

    • @nehagopinathpillai
      @nehagopinathpillai  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the person using it. If it's taken care of well, it can last a very long time. Some of my pieces that I made in 2010 for myself is still in good condition. :) I don't mix it up with my other jewelry, I keep my terracotta jewellery in its own individual boxes or zip locks.
