I would recommend just buying a pressure washer with the steam heat side, you can pick a good one up for a few thousand. With all the equipment you have it will pay for itself in no time!! Also get a turbo nozzle for it great investment.
honestly its not about the money when going from a tailgate to a vbox. you will love not handling, cutting salt bags. its always fun getting a new equipment no matter how big or small , remember grease all the bearings every few uses and run the spreader and test it before loading th salt . you will save yourself a big head ache oil spray the truck every year and the truck will be fine.
@@ChantsDailyHustle oh ok thanks. Reason I’m asking was I’m getting a 8000 for my 05 Chevy 2500hd with the short bed. Wanted to make sure I have the payload capacity. Thanks for replying brotha. Love ur channel and I’m also a subscriber
I can see the adjustment slots on the side of the spinner, you need to get it raised up. Where I am in Canada we need to put our license plate on the back of the salter, can't leave it on the truck. Get yourself a large piece of rubber like an old floor mat and put it at the back of your truck so the salter sits on it and it hangs down almost to the road. It will cover your bumper and help stop salt being thrown under your truck. I would have been disappointed to see that old salt sitting on the shoot. Make sure the track is cleaned and grease all the bearings. You'll be happy you got one with a cover.
Great video Chant, that landscaping project looks awesome! I highly recommend putting a rubber mat in between the back of the truck and the front of the spreader to keep the rust down! With the spreader in the back of the truck is added traction with the salt!
Great video, just got vbc6500 for my 2018 dmax. Great to see your set up. I installed mine myself just earlier today. Really overall simple deal. Any plan to mount the controller? Or just leave it loose? I’m undecided. Also do you keep material on hand yourself or go to depots?
Been in the game a long time need to get that old salt off that salter and spray it with krown to protect it especially the chain, auger, bearings etc also I would zip tie the extra length on the wires in the back so they dont get caught on something
Spinner is hanging way too low. Soon as you put some salt in the hopper it will be hitting the ground, should’ve put a emplacement tailgate spreader on the dump truck. I hope nobody backs into anything with it plowing you just slowed down the plowing production of that truck.
Chant, that things a beast! Just how many pounds of salt can that thing hold in capacity? I bet you could salt multiple parking lots just with a single fill!
You should put a fisher plow on the dump truck
Gotta say, that truck is looking mighty fine brother. Congrats on the upgrade!
Thanks bro 💪🏼
that's cause it's a GM :)

Hi there..was there a reason you didn’t go with the VBX 8000 2 yard spreader?
For the amount of salting we do the 6000 was perfect for us and it was smaller so we had just a little more room in front of bed

I’ll love the weight in back for traction for sure !
@@ChantsDailyHustle ya that truck will be a tank in the snow loaded. Probably wont even need 4wd
Great setup! Excited to see how it performs for you!
Nice upgrade chant. Can’t wait to see it in action this winter. Bring on the snow!
Thanks ! Yes bring on the snow
Might of ask already but how many miles are on your 2012 Chevy gasser
160k
That looks good
Be sure to pressure washer the underneath of the truck after using the sander
Keep a backup solenoid at the shop for those late night swaps!

I got that spreader last year! I love it! I'll put tailgate spreader on someone else truck. That's not coming out of your truck until April ; )
Nice
I remember i suggested u get that salt spreader couple years bacc, glad u got it.

Are you still going to the Salter for the dumptruck
No

Is tht auger fed
Yes it’s auger fed
I’ve heard good things about auger fed v boxes tht thy break up the salt better

Definitely,Thanks .
I went to get all boss for me soon
Nice
It takes money to make money 💰
Be careful with that hot water pressure washer on your vehicle wrap.
I agree Rick. I would assume that the propane is gonna get the water to 200 degrees steaming hot.
how much would a house like that be worth? those houses are so tiny to what we have around here.
That spinner seems a bit too low …I’m sure it’s adjustable...the way it’s set up now most likely for a dump truck...which it’s higher.
Yep I’ll have to adjust it up
You overpaid. Salt Dogg is $3000. You probably paid about $7000. Saltdogg has 2 year warranty. You could of bought 2 salt doggs for the price of that.
Salt Dogg is the Harbor Freight of the plowing industry.
They are so simple that as long as the motors are quality then it's good to go
